That's been hashed through here far too many times. The summary is: A brand new DI conference would not be BB autobid eligible until almost 2020, and the BB autobid is the tap into the BB television money. Moving up the NCC to DI is not living in reality of the situation.

The closest thing to a "must have" in there is:
-
Great minds, eh PCM.
-
"He made it sound like ... " = "I filtered and interpreted his words to mean ... " I'm with GeauxSioux and PCM on this one: I need a quote or a transcript.

Great (word here) move by the xDSUs:Pray someone leaves the Gateway for DI-A. Well, they got it (Western Kentucky). Some would fill that "(word here)" in with "strategic", others with "lucky". Things changed quickly and things worked out for the xDSUs. But that could never happen again for UND (or USD). Never.
-
Folks the key in there is simple: - It will take four tournament autobids low (or no) PWR teams and UND not winning a game. Could it happen? Sure, they even laid out how. Don't blame USCHO for reality. How do you prevent it? Control what's yours to control: Win.

You guys know my opinion already.
-
Yes, there is. There's DI, DII, and DIII as the link shows. The NCAA only sponsors a DI National Championship and a DIII Championship. DII doesn't have enough members to force the NCAA to sponsor a DII championship.

Let me translate that: Fargo has not three but four city commissioners that conspired (3 together, 1 alone) for more than 90 days to keep the AG in the dark about an open meetings violation. (They put you in jail based on the letter, not the spirit of the law. ) There's adding to an already great reputation. There's building the public trust. And the head of the ND State Board of Higher Education (Paulson) and NDSU president (Chapman) each just months removed from their own little open meetings exam by the AG didn't say a peep about it either? They have to know the law that a quarum is a meeting and they had to know they had 3/5 (a quarum) of the Fargo city commission, yet, nothing. This situation is very disappointing from both a Fargo city government and state officials point of view.

I found out a while back on Bisonville that all that matters is "Division I". Thus I adapted to that: UND 7, NDSU 0. Sorry, but NDSU fans made me do it.

No need to get that perm into any tighter of a twist because I'm sure we can create a special "day of beauty" package to include hot tub time too if you'd like. But expect that $0.77 per day rate to go up some.
-
And you must be a bad NDSU fan.
-
What's funny is all those wonderful places, and grand and glorious visions, and yet you have to come here, to be with us, to get any recognition at all. Meanwhile we're busy preparing to go to St. Paul and Buffalo and (hockey gods willing) St. Louis.
-
Uh, those were in Division II and any good NDSU fan knows they just don't matter any more. All that matters is Division I.

My point is drawn from the same source as yours when you invoke "Mesa" and "Mayville State". Make sure to post pictures of the rebar sticking through the concrete at Indiana State's crumbling football stadium. PS - "Since when is Men's and Women's swimming "marquee"." --> 20 of 22 mens and 25 of 27 womens NCC titles and top five finishes at nationals puts them up on the marquee for "best supporting" after (7 DI titles) hockey, football, and basketball.

Hak has said (recently) he expects Forney to be a top-two liner. If he's not there, and the whispers of physical (shoulder) issues persist, it's time to be patient. Let's get him healed up before we crucify him.

What's left on the schedule this academic year for NDSU's marquee sports? I see UND's mens hockey team in the WCHA Final Five and having locked up another NCAA tournament appearance. I see UND's mens and womens swimming and diving teams headed to Buffalo to another run at a national title. I see UND's womens BB team headed to the Elite Eight. Busy, busy, busy. And I seem to see NDSU fans with a lot of free time (assumably) because they're hangin' around the board of a lowly DII.

There are things more important in life than games. Contracts and enforcing them is one. Constitutional law is another.

Apparently the fundraising isn't going as well as hoped. It looked to me that the rodent boys all stuck their heads in the same vat of dye that they soaked those Sunday jerseys in. By the way, what is the "active ingredient" to get something dyed to that color? Old Milwaukee?
-
How's that align to the Minnesota urban legend that UND is all "overage Canadians".
-
I was about to say the same thing. I sure hope you had those "booked" in Vegas.
-
Given the size and style of play, dare I say "Robbie Bina's blueline replacement"?
-
Yes, and if pigs had wings we'd all be carrying umbrellas. If they had the donors they'd have gone with UND and USD. Instead, they've applied to the NSIC.
-
In a word: Yes. Given the crew that was there (3 commissioners, Fargo planning folks, in the NDSU president's office) someone had to notice and throw a tip to some news organization. If nothing else, don't the local news organizations follow the calendars and schedules of local officials? That many power players in one place and no one in the media noticed. Either the media are truly ignorant, or sat on it. Which is it? But that doesn't disturb me as much as three city commissioners (plus the chair of the ND State Board of Higher Ed, John Q. Paulson, yes, the same guy, and a university president, who had both just come through an open meetings investigation by the ND Attorney General) all "sitting tight" on the information for four months (and assumably hoping to get away with it). No, wait, they did: It's past the 90 days inquiry point for the ND AG. So much for open government.

You can wish all the DI-AAs (FCS) schools in Minnesota you'd like but they won't happen any time soon. Goldie rules that state just like Big Red rules Nebraska.
