Evan Trupp seems much more confident on the ice of late in comparison to October. Andrew Kozek seems intent on being and staying a top-six forward, and that's a good thing. VandeVelde just needs to come every day with that "A"-game of his. And I know some will disagree, but when you don't notice a defensive defenseman it means he's doing his job. (You only notice defensive defensemen when they get torched.) Zach Jones has been very unnoticeable, and that, for his style of defensive play, is a great compliment. A Saturday +5 at SCSU gets Joe Finley a special note here also. Taylor Chorney isn't the Taylor Chorney of last season inside of his own blueline (see: first goal Friday night). I'm not sure what's going on with that. Brad Miller is playing the same way he did last year and earlier this season: great with time and space on the big rinks, but struggling on the smaller rinks (where there's more play along the boards) and things happen more quickly. Ryan Duncan seems tight, like he's trying to justify that award. Fuggidabowdit. Just go out and have some fun.

During Saturday's CC at UW game (sorry, with no Sioux on the tube I decided to watch that one with the radio tuned to Hennessy in the background) the CSTV announcers talked about two things that Colorado College is doing: 1. Owens has them working under the philosophy of getting a shot on net in 8 seconds or less after taking possession of the puck, no matter where on the ice they start from. At times they seem to sell out defensively to do this, but it sure put a ton of pressure onto the UW defense. 2. Owens has them all on some sort of special diet where just about everything they eat and drink is monitored. Many of the Tigers are down weight from last season. But under this regimine they all claim to be faster and feel stronger. I don't know if it's a new trend (the last being Dean Blais' "we're just in better shape than you are" off-season training), but 14-6-0 (and 13-3-0 in league) to this point sure seems to point that it's working for CC so far.

Assumably this would be in Boston at either BU's rink or where the Bruins play, yes?

Don't blame me. I've never updated that one. (I keep my own list. )

Given that my question had merit (Hak revealed the Dean of Students has gotten involved) and others heard Hakstol talking on Friday's pre-game ... I could but the Dean would be legally precluded by FERPA from answering. So, given that, I'm a little shocked that Coach Hakstol would bring such a matter up in a public forum like the radio pre-game show. And apparently Hak did. I'm trying to figure out what Hak (note: HAKSTOL) said, in a pre-game show, streamed worldwide on the internet, about this matter. Why are you surprised that "Member 10" is interested in what Coach Hakstol told the world in the Friday pre-game? What was I wrong about? The Dean of Students getting involved? Hak said that on the radio. So if you're looking to rip someone: Rip Hak. But (based on past advice I've been repeatedly given) I'm going to trust Hak and assume he did what he did for a good reason.
-
What all did Hak say pre-game on Friday? I heard from another (I didn't have it on) that Hak said Oshie's "A" is gone from his jersey for the year and that he'd sit Friday. But was there also a mention of involvement of the Dean of Students in this matter?
-
That's nice, but a large annual check would mean more.
-
It's 4:31. Do you know who your coach is?

This whole matter has turned into a real pissah. [/best New Hampshire accent]

Where'd Mussman graduate from again? I seem to have lost that knowledge in a .... Cyclone. PS - Is it good karma for UND to hire a Cyclone when they're playing them in MBB tomorrow?

I'm going to patent the "Elevator Monkey". Press a button and monkey comes out, gets up on the roof of the elevator car, climbs the cables, and gets help. For an extra $1000 we'll add the supplementary "comes back with a bed pan" feature.

This is kind of like "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" ... Kill and Bohl were eyed for the Northern Illinois job. Kill took it, leaving SIU, and thus making the opening for Lennon. If Bohl would have just gone to NIU we wouldn't have this thread because Dale would still be at UND. Does it make sense to bring up Bohl now?

"Four whole fried chickens, ... and a Coke." "Dry white toast."

It's pretty simple when you break it down: You want to be in the spotlight (in a jersey, in public office, whatever) you buy the whole package deal: the spotlight, the attention, and the scrutiny.
-
6'7" and 250 pounds is not regular.
-
Once you pull on a jersey you are no longer a "regular joe" but a public figure. And the media has, does, and always will report on the activities, positive or not, of public figures.

I'll say it again: The greatest disappointment is that he learned nothing from January.
-
Hakstol finally showed some spine. Bravo! I was beginning to wonder where Dean Blais was when you needed him ....
-
He's at the University of North Dakota to learn more than just ice hockey. But is he.
-
What bothers me most? This is twice. I've long said it's not the mistake that concerns me; it's how you respond to, what you learn from, the mistake. He learned nothing from January.

TJ Oshie got arrested. Not warned, not cited, arrested. The cops don't do that lightly lest they be sued. Yet, they did. Ask yourself: How many times have you been arrested? No matter how you look at this, an arrest does not shine proudly on the University of North Dakota. Shine proudly on the University of North Dakota in all you do.

I can't believe this, but I find myself agreeing with a Denver Pioneer fan.

The most rational and realistic post in the thread and it had to come from a Pioneers fan.
