Looks like @nodak651 just validated @Teeder11 main numbers (11,952 and -2.4%). From the link, NDSU: Freshmen 2022: 2592 Freshmen 2023: 2260 (I get -12.8%)

Yes, Mrs Lincoln, and how was the play ...
-
Ah yes, the Lucius rule ...
-
I suspect even that may be optimistic. I know little of the circumstance but NCAA gonna NCAA.
-
How do you know that? Are you not obeying the restraining order that precludes you from staring through the windows during classes?
-
You always trot out the prize pony first.

The notion is a smoke screen to (end game) set up a "better" and "lesser" conference from the 2PAC and MWC without the MWC schools having to pay exit fees. The bottom MWC surely see it as well and will not stand to get stiffed.

How do you budget when you have no idea where you need to travel in a year if you're relegated (or moved up)? And what'll your revenues be if you move up, or worse, down? It's a great thought experiment but few presidents and ADs play on that section of the risk-reward curve.

You lost me right there.

Is it wrong for me to wish the HC wasn't the tallest person in that photo shoot?

Flying Soicer? < said in my best Curly voice, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk > Oh ... Spicer.

I keep Singleton on my Excel notes sheet but I'm certainly starting to question it.

UND Census Day 2023: 14,172 (+296); up about 2.13%. Increases in new freshman, new transfers, new grad students, total undergrad, and total grad. NDSU Census Day 2023: 11,952 (-290); down about 2.4%. New freshman down 11.9% from last year. Congrats UND. You got after it; now keep after it. Disclaimer: Thanks to @Teeder11 for the raw data. I just compiled it into one post.

Recruiting is more casino than science at times.

Fall 2022 (NDSU): 12,242. Fall 2023: 11,952. Down 290. Yikes. And under 12k. This puts them back to 2003-ish numbers, ... two lost decades. https://www.ndsu.edu/data/enrollment/annual/ The nasty in there is freshmen down 11.9%. Makes one wonder if UND's approach (Nistler, Education, Union, new housing, then athletic facilities, call it "student body first") was better than shooting $50M at an NDSU FB facility and still not having raised the $25M to get $75M from the State to replace the NDSU Eng'g building.

Credit hours enrolled. But you need students to take the credit hours so it aligns fairly closely.
-
C'mon @Teeder11, you know when it comes to good news about UND, ForumComm has a strict don't ask don't tell policy. To balance it out they have a strict do ask do tell policy for good news about NDSU. The reporting on this by ForumComm is the answer.

With the "last 17" disclaimer, and recruit reputation, no. Actual on ice ... we shall see. Other "hot runs" were - Parise -> Toews (give or take a year or two) and - building the 1980 and 1982 rosters.
-
Cook (current NDSU) has some significant issues to take on, foremost being budget shortfalls and declining enrollment. Additionally his predecessor (Bresciani) was against on-line classes so that area is presently a weakness also.
-
I don't see: Panzer, Klee, Singleton*, or Schultz. Jubenvill, Ausmus. Beyond "goaltenders 2 and 3", we might have the 26 man roster for fall 2025. *at this point, zero expectation to see him

I’d go with the 37 minute old tweet from Zellers saying UND.
-
Think of it as scoring a TD and casually handing the ball to the official ... been there before. Not overhyping it. Personally I believe it's a test of ForumComm: they love to hype anything good for NDSU and no one else.

Yesterday was census day. Only VCSU has reported publicly so far. https://ndus.edu/download/846/academic-calendars/20493/academic-calendar-2023-2024.pdf @Teeder11 speculated that UND may go low key in announcing.

I'm sure NDSU and UND are in a game of stare down chicken. And I'd think the NDUS system office would want the data out also. So we're left with ... Closing note: I'm going to listen to this now.
