  1. I wish kickers would use a snapper in those videos. It would: - give snap-spot action instead of a steady-hold target (how adjustable is he en route) - give a reference to how flat (blockable) the FG tries are coming off the foot
  2. Wrong question. Correct question: Who don't we have this weekend?
  3. Blaze or Blazers would be too easily negatively-connotated by some parties. The official name could be Firebrand, but in practicality we'd be known as "The Torch".
  4. The dates don't scare me at all. Contract awarded Feb 8. Figure the work starts Mar 1, so Mar-Apr-May-Jun-July: five months. But what interests me is the "install or remove the complete field within 2 hours, using 6 people or less" requirement. That's a pretty good trick. How many and how long does it take now with the magic carpet system currently there?
  5. I see some of you are beginning to realize the true nature and size and power of the behemoth called the NCAA. Look at what 82 posted: The NCAA is able to blow smoke like that up the rear of a Congressional committee and the committee rolls over.
  6. Stop it ira. You'll ruin McFeely's delusion du jour.
  7. Torch 'em.
  8. IRS Auditors ... Motto: "We're here to help!" That's scarier than Congressmen.
  9. Look at today's "academics": decidedly liberally biased. That's precisely where the policies are coming from.
  10. The voting members of institutions of the NCAA are not the faculty representatives from the schools. The university presidents of NCAA member institutions are the ones who vote: classic "academics". As far as NCAA leadership, current president Mark Emmert is a former president of U of Washington and previous president Myles Brand was a former president at Indiana University, again classic "academics". Please note my use of double-quotes around academics because they are that in name only. True academics know and respect individual rights and freedoms, not this group-think and identity politics mindset running rampant today in "academia".
  11. Grand Forks is probably running into what happened in Fargo: The high schools were in the right spots until all the growth only happened on one end of the city (in each case the south side).
  12. Now here's the "money question" for all of you: Are any of you really, really surprised that the NCAA is run this way when it's run by "academics" who run their campuses this way?
  13. Bloomberg BusinessWeek called the NCAA "The Best Little Monopoly in America". They defeated the US Postal Service and OPEC for the title.
  14. Ya ever wonder what Colten "we here at the NCAA don't like your HS transcript" St. Clair thinks when he reads stories like this?
  15. The way this season is going I think all we'll be able to skate for healthy bodies is three goalies. Maybe we'll get lucky and have one make a kick save that travels back up the rink and slips under the opposing goalie for a 1-0 win.
  16. The only poll that matters is the pole you raise a championship banner on.
  17. Seems Mr. Joe Nocera is on a roll against the NCAA. All I can say is, "Popcorn, please!" The College Sports Cartel NCAA's "Justice" System More NCAA "Justice" Guilty Until Proved Innocent Living In Fear of the NCAA
  18. Don't get tantalized by two twerp twits tweeting tumultuously. They're both just media jackals (<-- best Jesse Ventura quote ever) looking for "controversy" to sell advertising.
  19. Win at home; split on the road; that was Gino's theory. Or just go on a nine-game win streak after March 8.
  20. No more than the NY Giants and NY Jets play in New Jersey.
  21. MSU-M would rent it like any other tenant (see: Fargo Force).
  22. Too many "as long as" statements and such. I kept it simple.
  23. I'd like to see UAH find home if they can save their program. The Fargo Force seem to sell out their rink. Run with the right way I think MSU-M could make a go of it an fill a "niche" in the Fargo/Moorhead market.
  24. Uh, the freshmen are "true freshmen" under the definition of this being their first season on an NCAA roster. It's just that few of them are the classic, straight-out-of-high school 18 year old freshman (like Brock Nelson was last season). To your point, yes, these are more the 19 and 20 year olds who have developed stronger frames. What's being forgotten is this as well: How many of these guys will leave? In 2014 and 2015 we could be looking at a couple lines of today's sophomores and freshmen that have become team foundation-type juniors and seniors, guys who are playing career game 100 or more. Develop a core like that than can play plus/minus even hockey and take care of the penalty kill, sprinkle in some high end skill guys (either current or future), and it could be a good formula. Two years from right now you could have an O'D-MarkMac-MitchMac and a "Parks and Wreckers" (Parks, Pattyn, Gaarder) as the foundation of the team (two of the top three lines) and every guy in that group could have over 75 college games played. And you'll probably have Rodwell (who I still hold hope for in developing into the next Frattin), and Colton St. Clair, and a project guy named Senkbeil who's seen more ice than any of us expected. (What you probably won't have is Forbort and Mattson, but you will have Panzarella, who is also getting way more ice than any of us could have expected.) Note: Nowhere in there do I say "Nelson" or "Grimaldi".
