Let's see, someone goes "hatty" and they cut hat prices 33% for that day. So, instead of selling 3 hats and getting $x.xx they sell 4 hats and get the same $x.xx. So getting the same $x.xx but having one less hat in inventory (assets) is "profit"? That must be "NCAA math."

Shortell hasn't graduated yet, has he? The reason Braden Hanson could play right away is that he had graduated from UNC and had a year of eligibility left. Having graduated means he didn't have to sit out a transfer season. I don't believe Shortell would be eligible right away on transfer anywhere (unless he's graduated from UMTC).

I know I've picked the FCS playoff "chalk" to the semis, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Wofford will be a warm-up scrimmage on the triple option and Georgia Southern will beat ODU and bring their version of the triple option to NDSU the following week. (Wofford/ODU is a tough game to get a read on.) All Big Sky on the other side (Northern outdoor hosts in December. Need I say more?)

Quite honestly, and thinking about it overnight, the decision to not kick (a shorter FG than the winner last year) seems like a move by a guy who wants to be fired.

The Big Ten is looking to add TVs to their Big Ten Network. That's where the money is. Adding Maryland gets them into the Baltimore / Washington DC cable television market. That's big. Rutgers would get them into Newark / NYC. Buh-zhing! Side note: Adding Maryland? Uh, nice move there Don Lucia and Mike Eaves. More BB teams? We'll see BTHC on the BTN ... when?
