UND signed Laura Podolak of Kindred today. Great pick up! Podolak signs NLI to play at UND Podolak won back-to-back North Dakota Class B state medalist honors en route to leading her Kindred High School squad to the 2013 team title. I suggested the coach look at the Detroit Lakes girls. 2 time defending champs with everyone back including a MN state champ. 2 have UND connections. Hutchinson's sister played golf at UND and this one is better. Tschider's Dad played FB at UND. Detroit Lakes has 6 kids who can regularly shoot in the 70's. UND's coach didn't go after them and 2 are going to the Ag School, and Tschider is going to Augustana. Gotta at least make an effort. iramurphy Posted June 1, 2014 Share Posted June 1, 2014 Detroit Lakes girls team set all-time Mn. state record with a team total of 284 on tough Wildflower course. All six golfers shot below 78. Defending state co-champ shot 4 under 68. Teammates shot 70, 72, 74. Other defending co-champ shot 75 and number 6 kid shot 77. UND women's coach wasn't interested in these kids. I spoke with her last summer about these kids and told her they were interested in UND. The kid who shot 2 under 70 had sister play golf at UND and wanted to come here. Kid who shot 74 had Dad play FB at UND and wanted to come here. This team might be able to win Big Sky this year. 2 time defending champs undefeated last 2 yrs but UND's coach didn't recruit when she could have had at least 2 if not 3 of these kids. Wonder if Faison might take an interest in what the hell is going on. If they aren't going to make an effort they should drop the program.
