in the fight at the end, everyone on the ice except the two goalies got 10 min. misconduct penalty plus 2 minute roughing penalty plus Rylan got 2 minutes for charging.

While everyone is calling this a fight in essence it really isn't. Its a roughing scrum. Technically it's hard to beat someone up when you have two guys laying on you. :)

just replying as it was called. Technically half the fights in college hockey aren't fights because they stop them before it gets that far.

I would have actually liked to have seen what Jones could do, if he had been turned loose.

It was a mighty solid, although not great, early season WCHA game. It likely taught both teams and their fans alot.

The Badgers that they are not nearly as good as they thought that they might be. The Badger fans

that they are, perhaps, the biggest collective group of uninformed homers in the league (a big feat given

the fans at The John). The Sioux that lasting meddle is often formed through the cauldrons of adversity, and

that standing up for each other makes for a genuine band of brothers. And the Sioux fans that there are

few things in the world of sport that are better than following the Fighting Sioux when they are on the road

in the WCHA.

The miles were well traveled, and the trip was well worth it. Down the road, into '08, the Saturday game will

be fondly recalled as one of those rare "find your identity" games that springboard a team towards destiny.

It was great seeing the faces of many Sioux fans, and it was doubly great jawing with the high crying reds out of Madison. As in politics,

as in sports. They have rarely, if ever, a clue.
