Sioux-cia
OMG!! My mom died from CML four years after her diagnosis but she was 80. She refused chemo because it would decrease her quality of life. At that time it wasn't a good choice for an elder. Jason is young, strong, and has his whole life in front of him. I'm positive he can beat this beast!!! My prayers are with you, Jason!!

hrkac
How harsh is the media in Toronto? It only took 3 questions to ask if this is the reason for his "mini" slump to start the season. you can view the press conference on the Leafs website. Hopefully Jason's dad (Rick) is still reading this board from time to time and will pass on our thoughts and prayers to the entire family. It has been good to read about Jason's positive attitude, but tears welted up for me as I'm sure did for others when he spoke of the family! He will get through this -- we love ya man!!!! Sioux_Yeah_Yeah
Watching the Sabres/Maple Leafs game..... Interviewed Jason and was just shown (between 2nd and 3rd periods) What a great guy.... Just kept saying how lucky he was, and kept mentioning his family and his kids. It was very hearfelt!
Fighting Sioux Fan
I heard on the radio, I believe, that if he was diagnosed with this ten years ago he would have had to undergo chemo but because of medical advances over the past decade it is treatable with a once a day pill. The doctor that was talking about it called it a 'wonderpill' because it was so effective...

sioux rube
"He'll piss enough people off early enough in the games that they'll get over that pretty quick." Leafs coach Paul Maurice on whether he figures opponents will take sympathy on chippy winger Jason Blake, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. YaneA
I think the Ralph should sponsor a giant get well card for us to sign at the next home game. Better late than never. Best of luck to you, Jason.
