THETRIOUXPER
I heard that if your golfing in the tourney bring a lot of golf balls. I heard is long and they have a lot of water. I think there is water on almost every hole, challenging course for sure. If I was an avid golpher I might play this tournament, maybe I will anyway, I'm just not sure if I want to embarass myself in front of all of those guys. petey23
Not sure on this, but don't they need to be careful in using TJ Oshie's name in association with anything like this? I seem to remember a college basketball player getting in trouble with the NC$$ regarding lending his name and image to a school calender? Yttrium
TJ Oshie is helping out at the tournament. If he plays, the family will pay for his fees, etc. He participated in several events last year in GF and the same held true back then. No free lunches. It is the Oshie's way of giving back to the community of Warroad.

TJ Oshie' name won't be on any of the promotional material of this event. And if you can remember, the Fighting Sioux Athletics calendar in 2005-06 was loaded w/ athletes pix and names. His name is listed on the board to give it identity of where he came from. Thats all.
NorthDakotaHockey
This sounds like a great event that, sadly, I will not be able to make in person. I have been suspended from charitable tournament play in five states this year. An indictment on my abilities may be pending. However, I do intend to send a donation to the tournament. I hope and trust that many of us are in the same position to do so. TJ has given volumes to his roots and to his schools, including his decision to remain another year at UND. We, as fans, will all benefit from this. Open the checkbook and send a donation. Given the volume of traffic on this board, the SiouxSports contingent, even though not playing, can really make great strides in putting this worthwhile fundraiser over the top. There will be a large contingency of Fighting Sioux alumni playing in this event. It will be a who's who come August 18th. A "For Kids Sake" Auction will be taking place the evening of the golf tournament where several NHL Legends autographed jerseys will be dispersed and many other valuable items available in silent auction. NorthDakotaHockey
Here is the latest press release out of this event . . . . If you ain't ever been to Warroad, you'll love it. It is not only Hockeytown, USA, it is Hockeytown Heaven. How often can we be afforded the opportunity to golf, fish, wager, and schmooze with UND and NHL stars, past and present. More importantly, it is for a great cause. Investments of time, talent, and attention with our kids reap rewards a hundred fold. Those investments also often require money. If you cannot make it, as sadly I cannot, ship up a few scheckels for the cause. Well consider sending the cost of your next carton of smokes, your next case of barley pop, your next planned trip to the blackjack table, your next dumb purchase on e-Bay, your next donation to the Lord, or your next sleeve of jelly rolls up to the event to ensure that it is a rousing success for the kids of the area. Everyone attending and donating their time and talents have done much toward making this event a success. The rest of us p'ss ants can do our part by attending, or by sending a donation. You will not regret that you did. Tournament Organizer can be found here for address to mail your reasoned donation. Let's give something to TJ and the kids for all of the fine things that TJ and kids have given to us. ------------- For Immediate Press Release Tuesday, July 2, 2007 Warroad, MN: Dear Warroad Warrior Friends & Family: 2007 Hockeytown USA "For Kids Sake" Celebrity Golf Tournament & Auction Oshie Sports & Entertainment is proud to announce the 2007 Hockeytown USA "For Kids Sake" Celebrity Golf Tournament & Auction to be held on August 18-19, 2007, at the Warroad Estates Golf Course, adjecent to the beautiful southern shores of Lake of the Woods in Warroad, Minnesota. NorthDakotaHockey
A bump on this big and worthwhile event that is now not far away. If you haven't done it already, get your registrations in. If you cannot make it, I recommend cracking the wallet and sending the tournament a small, or sizeable, donation to ensure the success of the event. We all dribble money down our legs on trinkets and jerseys, what say we dribble some down the leg on something worthwhile. The kids. A good chance to give JT another shout out as well. Big A HG
I REALLY want to do this. If anyone wants to pair up with me, maybe we can get a SiouxSports 4-some or something. I'm about a 5 handicap, so if you don't want to golf with a hack you're in luck. I'll golf with anyone of all abilities. I golf by myself at Ray Richards and always get paired up with random people so I'm used to playing with people of all abilities. Let me know!
