Tsiouxnami Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Oops, make that 3 goals on 5 shots. Yikes!! (Canada 3-0 over Germany) Quote
Goon Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 How about Cyphilis for Latvia... Every time they say his name I cringe! That is a cool name. I am sure he isn't known as a communicable disease in his home country. Quote
Tsiouxnami Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 USA scores 1:34 into the game to go up 1-0 on Kazakhstan. Quote
PCM Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 (edited) You can get live results via the Web on the USA-Kazakhstan game here. Canada vs. Germany live results are here. Edited February 16, 2006 by PCM Quote
Tsiouxnami Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 The US looks crisper today. Couldn't agree more!! Leaps and bounds better today! Gives me a bit more hope! Go USA!!! Quote
HockeyMom Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 I don't like the new Nike jersies.......they're too streamlined. They look tight. Is it just Sweden that doesn't have them? I don't like every country having the same style jersies and having the only difference being the colors and the crest on the front. Quote

redwing77 Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Slovakians handled the Latvians pretty well. Hmmm Latvia tied the US, meaning they're probably as good as the US was that night... Slovakians beat Latvia... This PROBABLY means that Slovakia is better than Latvia and is therefore certainly better than US. Better hope that Slovakia hits a bump or well.... my previous prediction will turn into this: Gold: Canada Silver: Slovakia Bronze: Finland Czech, Russia, and US given complimentary participation ribbons and SCSU jersies Quote
HockeyMom Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 This PROBABLY means that Slovakia is better than Latvia and is therefore certainly better than US. IMO Latvia couldn't have tied the US team that showed up today......hopefully it's the team that we continue to see the rest of the tourney. Quote

I hope so because they aren't going to be able to let many more games go before they start "playing for pride" instead of "playing for a medal" Quote
HockeyMom Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Okay now I'm bored. I wish they would just keep playing the hockey games over and over rather than having to watch figure skaters warm up and give their entire background on them. I'd rather watch curling practice than listen to Scott Hamilton's sore throat talk about figure skating....... Ooh, wait things might get exciting Robin Roberts might get beat up by Katarina Witt....who just said dammit BTW. Quote
Sioux Hockey Fanatic Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 I just wish I could watch any of the hockey games. They all seem to be on during the day when I am stuck at work, and I don't have cable so I'm stuck with the figure skating on NBC. So I can live vicariously through your posts. Quote
Runninwiththedogs Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 I cannot figure out why people consider Slovakia beating the Russians is such an upset. Look at Slovakia's roster, they are loaded - Gaborik, Bondra, Hossa, Satan, Svatos, Chara.... Well, I think THAT explains it... Quote
redwing77 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Well, I think THAT explains it... Could it be.... SATAN?!?!? Quote
HockeyMom Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Could it be.... SATAN?!?!? "Look same letters S-A-N-T-A.......S-A-T-A-N......coincidence? I don't think so." Quote
jloos Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Well, I think THAT explains it... I guess there is some resemblance to the diety: Quote

Tsiouxnami Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Oh, Oh!! Don't like to see USA Women going into OT shoot out with Sweden. Their goalie has been pretty solid this whole tourney, let's hope our shooters are better!!! Quote
Tsiouxnami Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 No gold/silver for the US - Sweden wins 2-0 in shootout. UGHHHHHH! Quote
Tsiouxnami Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Actually, guess they would win 3-2 in OT SO. . . . . just had two shooters score to our none. Quote
