PCM Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Wow, this is definitely stunning for the North American continent. Not to mention the hockey fans who live on it. Quote
MafiaMan Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Not to mention the hockey fans who live on it. Exactly. Of course, right about now, 99.8% of Canada is in tears and 99.8% of America is saying "we have an Olympic hockey team over in Italy right NOW? Cool". Quote
DMT Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 He should be replaced by redwing77. My predictions: Gold--Russia Silver--Slovakia/Czech Bronze--Finland Quote
Tsiouxnami Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Start of 3rd. . . .Czech's lead Slovakia 2-0. Quote
MafiaMan Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I believe a certain someone mentioned earlier that Finland or Slovakia would medal...but not both. I'm a regular Nostrodamus. Hold on for my title game prediction one hour before the gold medal game. Quote

Hold on for my title game prediction one hour before the gold medal game. As it looks right now - I take Finland to medal, not Slovakia. . . . . geez, now my psychic side is showing Quote
Tsiouxnami Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Oh, I spoke too soon. . . .Slovaks have scored. 2-1 with about 16 minutes left in the 3rd Quote
redwing77 Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I can't replace Don Cherry. I don't have a bad enough opinion of European hockey players. As for the US-Finland tilt, it was better than I expected. The US scored 3 goals! Seriously, they should be proud of that. That's better than Canada managed. Other than that, no surprise on the four goals by Finland. They're a better team than us. Many of the teams in the medal round are. As for the Canada tilt... Surprised by that one. Serious shnide by the Canucks. Wow. Russia and Finland are for real. The Czech-Slovakia game is huge for the Czechs. All of my predictions are still wrong at this time so oh well. Because you all were making fun of me and hurting my feelings ( ) no more predictions. You may all rejoice now. Quote
MafiaMan Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 The Czech-Slovakia game is huge for the Czechs. And it's not big for the Slovaks? Quote
PCM Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 And it's not big for the Slovaks? It's big for Sparky, I know that much. Quote
redwing77 Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 And it's not big for the Slovaks? It is probably now. Quote
PCM Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I can't replace Don Cherry. I don't have a bad enough opinion of European hockey players. I will bet $1.5 million of Mrs. Gretzky's money that you don't dress as snappy, either. Quote
redwing77 Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I will bet $1.5 million of Mrs. Gretzky's money that you don't dress as snappy, either. This is snappy? I guess you win! Quote
Tsiouxnami Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Demitra takes a nasty shot off the visor from his own teammate. YIKES! Slow motion, the visor breaks and he is bleeding. Lucky he had the visor on, or he would be minus an eye! Quote
PCM Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Mike Madano says it's all because USA Hockey doesn't make reservations and stuff. Way to sound like an overpaid, spoiled superstar, Mike. Quote
MafiaMan Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 It's the cat's meow! Sadly, PCM was never known for his fashion sense. Quote

Tsiouxnami Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Czech's win 3-1 on an empty net goal. Man, Slovakia ALMOST tied it up. What a GREAT last couple of minutes! Too bad, would have liked to have seen the game go into OT. I can't stand Jagr! Quote

With Chelios as captain, maybe USA Hockey thought it might not be a good idea to have rooms in the name of USA hockey if the USA would happen to lose. Quote

Tsiouxnami Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Oh, the horror. . . .I am tearing up a bit for ya, Mike! And I am guessing they ordered the snow storm in New York too? Those darn USA Hockey people! It really was a conspiracy against the big, rich hockey stars. Quote

Way to sound like an overpaid, spoiled superstar, Mike. Dearest Mikey, Why don't you roll out the Brendan Morrison "the best team doesn't always win" quote too? And I can tell you why USA Hockey is going home: USA Hockey scored fewer goals! Want to know who to blame for that? See your local mirror. Signed, An embarrassed USA Hockey fan Quote
