Canuck
If I may make a prediction based on past Vancouver precedent, I wouldn't be surprised to hear the Star Spangled Banner booed again
SiouxMeNow
Hats off to Schneider!! I've had my doubts about him but he's not bad....DAMN this is awesome hockey!! Night guys...
Canuck
Whew... Definitely a nice win for what has to be a tired U.S. team. Schneider was a rock in the third period. I must say, I was quite unimpressed with the Czech team, save for (no pun intended) Marek Schwarz. As well as Schneider played, I don't think there were many pucks he didn't see. Mr. DressUp reruns are on at 6AM and those guys have to get home.... WAIT -- we'll see...pretty quiet! Maybe Canadians REALLY DO like Americans and vice-versa? farce poobah
Last week, Russia 7, Czech 2. They cleaned 'em out, USA struggled to win. This is going to be difficult, even for the anointed pre-tournament favorites. At this point, rational says Russia, emotion says .... Sioux_Hab-it
didnt some canadian official say something like lets those basta*ds freeze to death in the dark. about getting gas from them Actually that is what some Western Canadians said about Eastern Canadians in the Trudeau era. Goon
I'd be booing Johnson if I was that game and I'm an American - that late elbow against Canada was a MAJOR cheap shot! I understand the Johnson cheap shot and booing him, but the Canadian fans have been against the US since game 1. I'm not cutting them slack on that one. Its the Canadians thing, its a stupid thing they did all of last season, who cares, thats why the USA is a super power and Canada is a also ran. Its like get over the Iraq war. Canada is full of Liberal socialist that wish the USA was more humble and less cocky in their opinion. They kind of remind me of some of our Washington politicians. Hum almost Kennedy or Kerry like. USA is the big bad bullies that everyone comes to when they are in trouble, notice they don't come to the Canadians or the French? Sure Canada have some of the best hockey players in the world, nobody doubts that but the USA has cut the gap in half. I guess they are starting to feel threatened. Sure Canada have some of the best hockey players in the world, nobody doubts that but the USA has cut the gap in half. I guess they are starting to feel threatened. The US is seen as the main hockey rival because they have closed the gap. Look at the first round of last years draft and watch this years draft and you will see that US hockey players are now on a par with Canada talent wise. Just as in professional sport, fans will boo their greatest rival so you should try and see it as a compliment than a vice. I think we should keep politics off the Sioux chat. Bad mouthing each other is what political leaders do much too often for my liking. They do it because it is an easy way deflect voters concerns away from the real issues that haunt both of our great nations.
