Damn, hard not to be excited if you’re a Wolverines fan, they’re making massive investments across the board. Brewer sounds like a great add to an already stacked staff and team. Personally love the tech/analytics angle of this hire as well - we’ll see how it pans out, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little worried about keeping up with the B10 Michigan teams.

It's not a matter of if, but when the B1G finally get over the hump. Hastings and Larson nearly won natties with schools that UMN lobbies to reduce funding towards; with runaway budgets they can go the distance.

MSU & MI should be perennial contenders in any given year barring major injuries or locker room issues, but so should UND & about 6-7 other programs. The talent pool is just too large now for only a couple of B10 schools to be the heavy favorites in the postseason. Maybe a few years ago with their inside track to the NTDP, but not anymore.

Would be interesting to know why OSU & Notre Dame aren't stockpiling their rosters with uber-talent like MI & MSU do. Yes they get talented players, but nothing compared to them. Perhaps the administration at those schools aren't as heavily invested in men's hockey.

IMHO, Notre Dame is still a work in progress.  New coach, bad year one (9-23-5), would be a tough sell to top recruits compared to other programs with proven success in developing talent.   

Ohio State seems to be happy where they are which is middle of Big Ten pack.  No apparent ambition to go higher.

Agreed on both. 
 

I get that moving on from Rholick might be risky but might as well give it a shot. (In his defense though, that game day atmosphere is brutal for the most part. Hard sell in recruiting I’d imagine)
