It's not exactly "ethical hockey" but as long as you don't direct it in with your hand/arm and don't kick it, it's a goal. I could coach a team of meh dudes to 4.5 goals per game if we just played pinball out there half the time. My late night $0.02 Michigan would have won with my strategy. Denver would have won far sooner with my strategy. It's one of the handful of hockey things I have no shame in being arrogant about. I just don't why teams don't intentionally "shoot for bounces" more often. Goalie is rarely going to stop what isn't shot at him. Quote

If Michigan had the goalie and defensive structure from tonight back in 2022 or 2023, they're in the title game at minimum. Those Wolverines teams had far more high end talent but lacked the elite goalie & the defensive consistency that they have now. Good on Wisconsin and Denver for winning tonight, but North Dakota and Michigan are just getting back revved up. Both will be back. Michigan wins tonight if Mews was healthy & in the lineup. North Dakota wins if they bothered to show up in the 1st period and on the PP. Quote

Because style points count for (checks notes) 0 Scoring short side by the goalies ear counts as 1 goal like rebound goals, not 3 goals because of style points. These TocTok trick shooters are what is ruining goal scoring. Quote

Maybe they get more for the title game since it's relatively close, but as alluded to many times, their fanbase is small so who knows. Quote

nascar99 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Denver being the "Team of the 2020s (so far)" is just as annoying as Boston College being the "Team of the 2000s (plus early 2010s)". Credit to em and you tip your cap for what they do, but this is getting old. I guess it's better than Minnesota or Minnesota Duluth, but that's just small consolation. Quote

It helps that Denver fans social media presence is minuscule so they are no where as annoying as UMtc or Duluth fans. Alas, also can't really talk !@#$ to them due to the continual success of their program. But their run needs to end sooner than later. 1 Quote
Scratch Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago outmuscled the entire game until it was over with no push back other than wasted opportunity after wasted opportunity obviously no one could bury. Nerves clearly infected the entire team once it wasn’t going well and no one could rise above. Big time bummer. I hope chyz brings in some snipers Quote
Scratch Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago If Jackson brings another team that folds like this next year I hope it doesn’t take a decade to rip it off despite what Schloss “hang a banner for COVID” says 2 Quote
Scratch Posted 55 minutes ago Posted 55 minutes ago Denver can win being outshot 2-1 they have a plan to beat more talented opponents. it was game over 13 minutes into the first for us like it has been all year when we start getting worked there simply is no adjustment it is just panic everywhere the rest of the game like we saw tonight. Our d was completely lost all night and this became worse and worse of an issue the entire year. Mark my words we are screwed this staff has 5 years of leash and makes talented defensemen play like they are blind 1 Quote

Scratch Posted 39 minutes ago Posted 39 minutes ago I know most of you guys have seen a lot of success but in my lifetime I have seen bc beat our brakes off over and over and the cbs line deliver us glory. I want that again terribly and don’t understand why Sioux teams simply don’t show up at all most of the time in the frozen four Quote

You're writing off an entire new staff due to a single one-goal loss in the F4, a place where they finally led us back to after a break of 10 years. It was a tough loss after a really great season. No need to panic. Let's see how this offseason goes, because I think it will be even better than last offseason. Quote
