Watched a bit of a couple Blades preseason games and Williams and Klimpke didn’t play in either.   I am sure they know what they have with them, so are getting a look at others.

They talked about Williams at camp during the game

Kayden Stroeder to Notre Dame. Very good get for Notre Dame.

Schloss had mentioned UND was after some of the uncommitted Canadian Hlinka players. I think Stroeder was a guy they would have loved to have.

Great get for the other UND. Fighting Irish stacking some very solid commits/recruits, wonder if they'll be able to turn it back around on the ice

Bryn recently started following both Brock Cripps and Bosse Meijer on IG (still a ways out but both likely would be first round picks in 2027)

Cripps will be a Sioux

Meijer having games in the SHL last year and probably more this year might make it tough to pass the clearinghouse, but nothing a lawsuit can't fix!

I was just thinking that as well.  They have a really nice pipeline of current recruits...wonder if they'll be able to compete against the likes of UM or MSU anytime soon...those schools have certainly pulled away in the B10.

Would love to see that, he'd be a great college hockey player.

Meijer is interesting...wonder what the likelihood of a player like him coming over from Sweden to play NCAA would be.

UND could really use a top 4 RHD for 27/28. I imagine Cripps is their top target.

Agreed.  Similar to Carels this year, I could see UND going full court press on Cripps for next season.
He would certainly add to an already just outstanding incoming '27 class.

If ECHL guys can play in college then why not SHL?

The coast pays a pittance, less than $30k. SHL pays similar to AHL, $75-100k. Salary is what defines pro now; I forget the verbiage but I think it's something along the lines of a player can't have made more than the value of a scholarship.

If you play pro games as an affiliate player and not under a pro contract, you're still eligible for the NCAA. Once you sign the pro contract and exceed 1 year's worth of tuition money, then you lose eligibility.

Thanks

I was trying to remember how they handled it in the SHL. It was only 2 games so I'm thinking he never signed a pro contract.

You can usually tell if they are on a loan if they also played for the junior team during the year.
