scpa0305 Posted Saturday at 03:16 PM Posted Saturday at 03:16 PM So you’re telling my R McQueen from Sask (playing in Brandon) would rather play for providence as opposed to us? Especially as we need a RW? Money has to be the difference 2 Quote

He’d most likely get top line at Providence while he’d compete against Reschny and others at UND. Nonetheless, interesting though. Most of the big boys, including UND, have their top line center(s). I do not think McQueen or the Ducks would want him in a situation where he would not be guaranteed top line minutes. If that is the case, conversations with a lot of schools end rather quickly. If he is okay with playing games at wing with high end line mates, UND would be a hard option to pass up. Especially now that a lot of NIL funds are dried up for next season. 2 Quote

Ya based on watching Reschny this past week he is pretty solidified to be top line center. Unlikely that McQueen and his team want him playing wing or 2nd line center Also not as confident in how he will jump in to college next year with injury past plus him seeming to be kind of raw so that may have turned off UNDs staff. atxsioux Posted Saturday at 05:07 PM Posted Saturday at 05:07 PM Overall the more and more high end players from the CHL that flip to NCAA is good big picture. Makes it more and more likely that future players will choose the NCAA after their draft year. Quote

Definitely creates new and interesting dynamics. With a significantly larger pool of players that you can pull from but only expect one year out of, it may be harder to do when there’s some uncertainty with the serious lower back injury. These types of players have to be taken as what can you give me now, because you likely won’t have a second year. Not saying that UND passed on him, because I have no idea and would be pretty excited if he chose UND over Providence, but certainly adds a new element to how you evaluate talent, and who can immediately make your team better. 2 Quote

beastandco Posted Saturday at 05:41 PM Posted Saturday at 05:41 PM Interesting move for McQueen. Not a ton of notable alumni and the Trevor Connelly experience was not great last year. Right choice to go to college, we will see how his situation works out. All eyes on Desnoyers for the next week. Almost all of his peers have went to NCAA. UND is holding out for someone, I have a feeling that he is their guy. Quote

Obviously UND and all of us fans would be ecstatic if he came here and was ok playing wing or competing with Reschny. Pridham seems to make the most sense in terms of need. 1 Quote

brianvf Posted Saturday at 06:10 PM Posted Saturday at 06:10 PM Providence seems like an odd choice. But who knows. Connelly left after one season of lackluster performance there. Quote

NCAA teams have often been on the wrong side of this in the past. 1 Quote
