Bryn follows Dravecky’s father as well. He definitely is a name to watch. He could sneak into the first round of the 2026 draft with a good year this year.

His dad is only 40 and still playing pro! Looks like the prospect was born during a brief stint in the states, making him a dual citizen.

Does anyone have any information on Desnoyers? I haven’t seen much about him playing college. He is somewhat connected to BC but that is a weird fit with Hagens, imo. BC recruiting him during the season but a lot can change since then. He stated a couple of weeks ago that he is open to the NCAA option if he isn’t able to make Utah, which is unlikely he will. 
 

Clearly Bryn views him as a reasonable target because he recently followed him on instagram. Desnoyers models his game after Toews and Bryn could use that as a pitch for him to come to UND. Like Martone, he will have a ton of NCAA interest. I could see it coming down to UND and Denver. He does not seem like a Big Ten guy.

From what I have read, Boston College has shown interest throughout the year. Desnoyers said last week that he “either wants to play in the NHL or where he has the best competition, and that includes the Q.” Since a lot of the top guys are going the NCAA route, there’s no doubt that the NCAA is better.
 

BC has been after him but I haven’t seen anything about BC being the definite destination if he chooses to go the NCAA route. Losing out on Carbonneau might have changed BC’s chances as well. They still probably are the favorites but there is very little information about Desnoyers’ potential suitors.

Peyton Kettles (2007, WHL, Swift Current Broncos, 2025 Pittsburgh 2nd rounder) follows North Dakota, Quinnipiac, & Boston College on Instagram.

Would be super beneficial for the Dub defenseman to go the NCAA route. Kettles doesn't produce much offense & needs to refine his game further before turning pro. I think another year in the Dub & then jump to the NCAA as a 19 year old makes a lot of sense.

He is HUGE. 
 

Winnipeg native, clearly he is interested in staying close to home. He could be a good 2nd pair defenseman in a year for us.

Beckham Edwards (2008, OHL, Sarnia Sting, projected 2026 late 1st/early 2nd rounder) follows Boston University, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Penn State, Notre Dame, North Dakota, Ohio State, Providence College, Denver, Michigan, & Boston College. So basically all the bluebloods except for Minnesota & then a few more.

He'll be able to go wherever he wants if he goes NCAA.

I read online that they are the Epicenter of College Hockey now though after the McKenna commit.

I'm aware. I just shared every program that he follows. The only bluebloods are Denver, North Dakota, Michigan, Minnesota, Boston University, Boston College, & Wisconsin. Edwards follows all except for the Gophers, & pretty obvious as to why he doesn't.

Minnesota's stance of being so openly anti-Canadian for so many years is gonna bite them in the butt on the recruiting trail for quite a while. Hard to recover quickly from that.

Circling back on Carter Casey (late 2007, Grand Rapids, MN native) and his recruitment being down to Denver, Wisconsin, Minnesota, & North Dakota:

Denver has Hicks & Miller with Boettiger on the way, Wisconsin has Hauser, Castro, & Pulver (although all 3 very unproven), North Dakota has Homer & Spunar with Heil on the way, & Minnesota just has Di Pasquo & Airey. Really think Denver and North Dakota are stocked full going forward in net, Wisconsin has guys but none are guarantees, and Minnesota is pretty barren. Seems like it would come down to Minnesota & Wisconsin, but it also could depend on how many years of junior Casey will play, could defer him coming in until 2027, wherever he goes.

In a recent podcast interview, Motzko seemed pretty hesitant to jump into actively recruiting (Canadian) CHLers until his staff gets a better idea, which seems to be foolish at best. But yes, their hostility towards most Canadians & lack of minor & junior hockey connections in Canada will really hurt them.

I think that it is more than that.  The entire Gopher Hockey identity (history, alumni, fans) is anti-Canadian. They are all about Minnesota High School hockey.  Are they going to risk that pipeline?  Not saying it can't be done, but it's not going to be easy.
