Sioux_Hab-it
I didn't spot this in any other thread but yesterday INCH posted a complimentary review on UND's (next Captain?), Drew Stafford. http://insidecollegehockey.com/7Archives/a...afford_0350.htm
PCM
It'd sure be nice if INCH could get through a UND-related article without taking some kind of shot at Grand Forks.
redwing77
Is that possible, PCM? I think that's in their charter. Wouldn't want to break the norm. In any case, I love the last two sentences of the blurb. Scott Sandelin said: "With his talent level, and skill-wise, he was right at the top of the roster. He was our best player. Diggler
I thought that was Phil "Nazareth" Kessel? In any case, I do believe he'll wear the C. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Close, but it's actually Phillip of Nazareth
PCM
I read the article twice and I didn't see where they took a shot at Grand Forks? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What relevence do these references have to the story? ...his best work usually comes when the ice on the Red River is melting. Summers are notoriously short in North Dakota... I'll admit, I'm probably too touchy about the subject. But if you read INCH stories related to UND often enough, you'll see that taking digs at Grand Forks and its climate are standard operating procedure. CoteauRinkRat
What relevence to these references have to the story? I'll admit, I'm probably too touchy about the subject. But if you read INCH stories related to UND often enough, you'll see that taking digs at Grand Forks and its climate are standard operating procedure. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They constantly take shots at Grand Forks for no particular reason. I might be touchy about the subject also, but it really has gotten old.
ScottM
1. Ice on the RR eventually melts, and 2. Summers are "short" in GF, especially compared to parts of the country where you can still golf in December.
Smoggy
I believe the writer Jess Myers is from like Rosoeu and went to UND and wrote for Sioux Illustrated. EDIT: screwed up on the magazine name.
Cratter
I believe the writer Jess Myers is from like Rosoeu and went to UND and wrote for SiouxSports. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think you're wrong. I believe he went to Wisconsin. from Sioux Illustrated: After the series, Inside College Hockey.com

Jackson
What relevence do these references have to the story? I'll admit, I'm probably too touchy about the subject. But if you read INCH stories related to UND often enough, you'll see that taking digs at Grand Forks and its climate are standard operating procedure. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fair enough. I guess I have never paid that much attention to INCH articles regarding the Sioux. I did think the writer was using the ice melting on the Red River as a metaphor for playoff time and was in fact complimenting Drew.
