siouxtatoo42 Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Anybody else think that Vandevelde was phenomenal last night. I might have to change my vote to him over Oshie now. Anyways that was the third time I saw him play and it was by far his best game. He must of had 10 or more shots on night and probably could have scored 6. At one point Lou Nanne was talking about him breaking the record for shots on goal in a game. He had I think 4 or 5 shots on goal in one shift in which Moorehead was shorthanded. He played amazing as did the whole Moorehead team. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> it was nice to hear vandevelde's name every 20 seconds along with the goalies. closed circuit to jloos, what's up with little cuz missing the wide open net-talk to him. sioux recruits are having an excellent tourny and it's really fun to watch, can't wait until next year Quote
jloos Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Who was named Mr. Hockey? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The ceremony is tomorrow. Quote
redwing77 Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 The ceremony is tomorrow. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How did Hummel do? I wonder if he has the inside track as his team was state champs. Quote
spfreak Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 There is no way that Hummel could beat out Oshie IMO. Quote
SiouxperDave Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 BTW - In my mind it will be an upset of epic proportions if the Spuds don't win this thing. Holy Angels' goalie was on fire. He had an awesome tourney. Quote

Billy the Kid Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Chris Vandevelde looked like the best player in th tournament this weekend. Was there a tournament MVP? Quote
dagies Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Holy Angels' goalie was on fire. He had an awesome tourney. No kidding. In control, in position, and didn't give up much for rebounds. Hope that kid likes Green and White! Quote

Sioux_Hab-it Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Wow, how often has this award gone to a D-Man. It certainly is a rare occurence in most leagues I am aware of. Quote
schmidtdoggydog Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Wow, how often has this award gone to a D-Man. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is the fifth time since 1985. The other d-men: Paul Martin Mike Crowley Larry Olimb Kris Miller Quote
skateshattrick Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Holy Angels' goalie was on fire. He had an awesome tourney. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed. He's actually from North Dakota originally. His dad is Sheldon Smith, an attorney from Bismarck. Quote
Old Barn Guy Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Larry Olimb was a defenseman. I saw him play and coached against him. He might have played center on the odd shift, or at Kansas City in his pro career, but he was a tremendous high school defenseman. Quote

Just found it interesting that he's listed as a center on HockeyDB. They have been known to be wrong. Quote
