SWSiouxMN Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 It was a night to forget in Brookings for UND. It is time to turn the page against the Yotes Since We Last Saw USD: The Yotes used the UND game as a springboard for a 5 game winning streak before dropping a close one against NDSU. They have gotten some really good guard play from Boogie Anderson, Mason Archambault, and Kruz Perrott-Hunt during this stretch, alongisde the rebounding machine that is Hunter Goodrick. The winning streak allowed them to vault to the middle of the pack in the Summit. They have a rematch in Brookings coming up next week but outside of ORU, the schedule in manageable. Todd Lee has done another excellent job this season and should set his team up for success next year... when AJ come back. Key Player: Mason Archambault (6'0 Senior) Since we last saw Archambault, he has continued his impressive play, nearly averaging 15 a game. He certainly has been quite the find for coach Lee (and to the chargin of coach Sather, who was the other team that offered him.. sigh what could have been). Series History: Series History: UND has a 103-93 series lead. USD now leads the D1 series at 9-8 Other Games: NDSU (6-3) @ SDSU (9-0): The rematch is upon us in Brookings. NDSU looking to close the gap against the Bunnies while SDSU looks to take a giant step forward in locking up the #1 seed at Sioux Falls. Bunnies are rolling right now, but the Bison might have the secret sauce. UST (2-5) @ WIU (3-5): Tommies looking to get things going again after a tough stretch of game. Western needs to start turning things around, too much talent to playing the way they are playing. ORU (8-2) @ DU (4-6): ORU bounced back with a win against Omaha. DU lost a tough one to KC. So far ORU has avoided the bad loss, but this could be a trap against a plucky Pios squad. DU continues to be an improved program under new management. KC (5-3) @ Omaha (2-8): Hottest team in the Summit not named SDSU? The Roos! Winners of their last 3. Keys: 1) Find ways to get Bruns going at his "homecoming" game 2) Keep the Yotes off the boards 3) Slow the guards down 4) No long droughts The Call: Here is the deal: UND has 10 games left in their conference season. However, we will know by next Saturday if they are going to make it to Sioux Falls or not. Picking off the Yotes on the road could be the thing that can turn the season around. UND is going to have to forget what happened on Thursday and get back to what they were doing against ORU and UMKC, expect this time cash it in. They will play much better against USD and it will again be a close game. However, it is in Verm and the Yotes will take care of business. USD 77-72 https://goyotes.com/watch/?Live=1215&type=Archive Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Thanks, as always, for the write up and link to the game Quote
Kab Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Hope the men bring the effort that the women did and shoot as well Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted January 29, 2022 Author Posted January 29, 2022 UND running the same starters Panoam Bruns Norman Danielson T Quote
Kab Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Can we shoot any worse? same crap, different day Quote
UND1983 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 The recruiting and replacement of lost players is embarrassing. Northern State would kick the crap out of this team Quote
Kab Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 What’s with the weave every time out past the 3 point line, nothing happens but wasting time it’s a poor offense, Sather needs to go to coaching school Quote
LDL Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 UND needs to get stronger inside. the last 2 games they have been outmuscled inside. Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Was hoping for more today but - we get behind then fight back only to lose by ten Quote
Kab Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Really embarrassing the way Sather has them play, no sense of a scheme most people on this board could coach this team to 4 wins Quote
bincitysioux Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 It's very sad watching this program right now...... Quote
Kab Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 If Sather stays in the locker room the 2nd half we wouldn’t play any worse Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 1-9 from the three doubled up in rebounds about 25% from the field 18 points with a minute left in first half down by 20 couldnt be much worse Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Yea I wonder if we didn’t have a coach and the players played like in an independent amateur tournament if we would be just as good Quote
Kab Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 How many d1 players on this team 3 maybe 4 at most or is that too many Quote
LDL Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Just now, Kab said: How many d1 players on this team 3 maybe 4 at most or is that too many this is probably close. certainly aren't many D1 shooters on the team. Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 So much for the comeback down 27 eleven minutes left in game Quote
Kab Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Do we win another game? if so who do we beat? Quote
