Bisonfan1234 Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 BAAAHHHHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! What a dreamer... You might need to saddle up and come and get it, cuz it belongs to UND period and, in the words of Charlton Heston "Out of our cold, dead hands..." Like I said before, I doubt it will come down to this. But, if the Blue Key wanted, all they'd have to do is take it to court and win the case. Then they would come, with a police escort, and take it. Quote
DamStrait Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 As if UND knows anything about class. Okay, I think that crosses the line. Moderator, can we have this putz banned now? Quote
petey23 Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 The UND student senate also has ownership rights as they assumed them when the UND blue key organization was dissolved. Also, the Nickel was created by a UND Grad, so get overyourself. If it makes you feel better, maybe we can give you a replica so you won't feel like a total LOSER. Quote

bisonguy Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Frankie, How about those LSU fans commenting about the Ohio State/ Michigan rivalry? Quote
petey23 Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Blue Key is allowed to present the trophy to the winner every year. Whne the UND blue key folded, this right(honor) was bestowed upon the UND student senate. The nickel trophy was the idea of UND alum Richard Kunkel. I know you(bisonfan 1234) are pretty dense, but this has got to make sense to you sooner or later? Quote
Bisonfan1234 Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Perhaps the idea was his, but the metal belongs to the Blue Key. Quote
Supertrex Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Perhaps the idea was his, but the metal belongs to the Blue Key. Wow...you can't be for real...but alas, ALL of the attorneys and judges in ND were educated at UND (at least we know they don't come from moo u)...I doubt very highly that you'll see someone conclude in favor of the BK Club based on your logic... Quote

Corella Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Bottom line, it doesn't matter where the Nickel came from, the brainchild of someone UND, NDSU, or an alien, whoever put it up did so with the idea that the winner gets it until it changes hands through a loss, no other provisions. UND won it, until it is won back there is a special place for it in the UND football offices. Enough said. The NDSU glee club should spend their time thinking up a trophy for the winner of the SDSU-NDSU game and not worry about something that is out of their hands, as it is in this case. Quote
UND Fan Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Well put, Corella! Let's end this silly discussion now! Quote
tuggnutt Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Let's fire up that Sitting Bull Trophy again! Wait, we don't play for that anymore either? Well, let's just race bicycles or see who can do the most jumping jacks and give it to them... Quote
The Sicatoka Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 I can't believe no one has rolled out the old legal axiom: Possession is nine tenths of the law. Last I saw it, NDSU's Blue Key gave it to UND (namely the UND Student Senate with the UND football team serving as their proxy for receiving it) and UND has possessed it ever since. Possession is nine tenths of the law. Quote
PCM Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 I can't believe no one has rolled out the old legal axiom: Possession is nine tenths of the law. Someone did on the first page of the thread. Shep: "I believe possession is like 9/10ths the law." Quote
The Sicatoka Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Then it needed to happen again because apparently some folks just don't understand it. Quote
WYOBISONMAN Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Holy s&!t......isn't it about time to lock this silly thread...... Quote
SFSIOUX#1 Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Would have thought that the mighty bison bretheren would have some D-1 Forum to spew there nonsense instead of wasting time on some poor D-II's site. Quote
nickelboy Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 ya, they all talk so big, but they love to come to are sight to raise hect. They are so jelous they just want to see what were up to. Could you imagine if they would have beaten us the last few years in football how cocky they would sound. They sure would have loved to bring that NICKEL on their big caravan out west with them. I wonder if BOHL got to fly around Nebraska like he is doing in Bisonville. Giddy-up were heading to williston. Quote
sioux7 Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 NDSU and UND are probably never going to play again. Melt it down. Yea, good idea. Then reshape into the statue of Jim Kleinsasser blowing past the defensive backs of the bissssssson. You remember, just like they showed on ESPN later that day. Quote

Corella Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 We'll melt it and reform it as the new traveling trophy between NDSU and SDSU...the REAL rivalry for the state of North Dakota. Nice rival. That trophy would never see Brookings (thank god, the place is a hellhole) other then when it travels there on gameday and the Bison win it back. Only good thing about them as a rival is that if the stealing of the trophy thing continues with your new "rival", it will be pretty simple to find, it is either in the town gas station, the town pub that AD Oien aparently frequents daily, or one of the 3 houses in town. My suggestion for a trophy between NDSU and SDSU is a miniature deck, because the Bunnies might be able to hide under it for a quarter or two, but the Bison will eventually have their way with them in the form of a .22 calibre blast to the back of the head. Quote
SiouxMeNow Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Sorry DaveK, the nickel only belongs to the Sioux in the context of the rivalry game. That game is no more so the nickel defaults back to the original owners: the Blue Key. Since the BK only exists at NDSU, they will decide what to do with it. Put yourself in UND's shoes...if you guys had won this last game...would you be willing to send it off to Bismarck or give it to the geeks in the BK club?? NOT!!! You guys would hang onto it like nobody's business just like we are - AND RIGHTFULLY SO - it always was the icon of the rivalry. We won the "last" meeting fair and square so it's ours...like i've said before...maybe you should melt down all your now-apparently "lesser" DII trophies to make the "BIG STINK"...sorry "big stick" (ooohhhh!) for your HUGE NEW RIVALRY WITH SDSU (yaawwnnn)...i guess you should be glad because you've found someone you can finally beat like a drum on a regular basis...JUST LIKE WE'VE DONE TO YOU FOR THE LAST DECADE OR SO!!!!!! Call the BK club (want fries with that?) and tell them to go back to their latest dungeons and dragons game and move on...good riddance! Quote
