Hard to blame teams for trying to get something for their players.

That's why I think 1. They should have made it that each team can only protect 5 or 6 players total. 2. The protected list should have been made before the playoffs.

It sounds like the Blue Jackets will trade the 24th overall pick and a prospect to the Golden Knights.

The NHL was stupid for not letting the Golden Knights be just Knights because of a team in the OHL.

Wild might make a deal with the Golden Knights to not take Brodin, Scandella, and Dumba. Haula could be exposed, but you have to think any deal with the Golden Knights is going to involve Zucker to the Golden Knights.

I would really hate to see Zucker go.

Don't think the Wild will give up Zucker. Think they would even be alright loosing Scandella and would maybe include a prospect to get that done.

I'm not sure how the free agents work, I think he is still part of the Capitals until July 1st.

Just thinking that's why he wasn't protected. He should be a unrestricted free agent.

The Wild were trying to trade Brodin and Scandella. There's talk that there will be talk between the Wild and Golden Knights on passing on unprotected players that the Wild want to keep. It also sounds like Zucker gets the last protected spot or is exposed.

I think the Golden Knights will give him the contract he wants. I could see some high end free agents ending up in Vegas.
