sioux fan in phoenix Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Very impressive, Yane! You seem to have a natural knack for this kind of writing...
forecheck Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 [addressed to chunk o' beef player of Forecheck's selection]: "I've got a [heart] on for you" That was actually pretty funny! You know me, anyone with shaggy hair will give me a heart on. I believe the security guard wanted an illustration of a hockey stick with the phrase "[hockey player] swings both ways." He's awsome.
YaneA Posted February 6, 2004 Author Posted February 6, 2004 A few more... Penalty Box thought bubble: "Ross & Rachel TOTALLY End Up Together" Box: "Oh, Do Behave!" "Leading the League in Nose Hair"* *In case you're wondering, I stole this from "Major League" which someone mentioned in another thread: Harry Doyle: Heywood leads the league in most offensive categories, including nose hair. When this guy sneezes, he looks like a party favor. [two tigers in the tank]: "Two's Company; 11,500's a Crowd" "I [heart-- but with the heart scratched out and the word "Tolerate" inserted instead] Refs" [Not that I'd condone fighting...] "Pre-Fight Checklist: Stick Gloves Shirt" [with each checked off] Others: [Tiger goalie beaten] "You Got Served" [in the unlikely event of a drop in cabin pressure or a Tiger goal] "Just a Bump in the Road to Boston" [referencing Tiger goalie] "GAA Higher than GPA" Anyone know who the officials will be? If we get a pudgy one... "[Ref's name here] Vertical Stripes Are So Slimming!" "Many Are Hot; Only Four Are Frozen" Someone, or everyone, give me a top five so I can start this weekend.
YaneA Posted February 6, 2004 Author Posted February 6, 2004 Aw, c'mon! I know you guys have opinions. This weekend, I want to fit poster-making in around watching/listening to Sioux-Badgers, going to see "Miracle" and ignoring housework. Some direction, please!
DamStrait Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Here's my preferences: [in the unlikely event of a drop in cabin pressure or a Tiger goal] "Just a Bump in the Road to Boston" [referencing Tiger goalie] "GAA Higher than GPA" "Many Are Hot; Only Four Are Frozen" "A Pair of Parises Beats All These Jokers" Penalty box: "2:00 for Boring Us to Death" "Beat the Tigers-- (signed) Siegfried & Roy" [with appropriate Spanish punctuation, i.e. upside question mark and exclamation points] "CC? No! No!" "Welcome to the Ralph: Home of Banners, Not Manners"
UMDDogz Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 You guys are really getting organized with the sign ideas and planning far in advance. Got any sign ideas for the WCHA Final Five yet?
UMDDogz Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 "Welcome to the Ralph: Home of Banners, Not Manners" Clever! I like this one!
YaneA Posted February 6, 2004 Author Posted February 6, 2004 UMDogz: When the Sioux get down there later this month, will Duluth be playing with a full DECC? Get it?
UMDDogz Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 UMDogz: When the Sioux get down there later this month, will Duluth be playing with a full DECC? Get it? Heh heh. Well, seeing as how the Dogs nearly sold out the Tech series (5200/5400 seats filled), I would say the yes...there will be a full DECC.
forecheck Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 [two tigers in the tank]: "Two's Company; 11,500's a Crowd" I like this one.
YaneA Posted February 6, 2004 Author Posted February 6, 2004 Forecheck: With the three-day Presidents' Day weekend, what are the chances the Ralph has a sell-out? Have you selected your heart-on piece of beef?
The Sicatoka Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 "We prefer March 17 over February 14, but only 'cause it's green. " Or to placate Dr. K there should be a sign mentioned in here: Welcome Fellow Scholars.
MinnesotaNorthStar Posted February 7, 2004 Posted February 7, 2004 Penalty Box thought bubble: "Ross & Rachel TOTALLY End Up Together" ....This one.... 2 for checking out cheerleaders 2's Company Anyone of the "nice" ones a la the Kameron Krayzies [Not that I'd condone fighting...]"Pre-Fight Checklist: Stick Gloves Shirt"
forecheck Posted February 7, 2004 Posted February 7, 2004 Forecheck: With the three-day Presidents' Day weekend, what are the chances the Ralph has a sell-out? Have you selected your heart-on piece of beef? Eh, probably not with the student section anyway. The students still had leftover tickets for the Gopher series in November because of a 3-day weekend and an Alabama (I think) concert. It will be full, but probably still only in the 10,000 range. As for the sign, I don't know, maybe I have a heart on for Cox? Bradyn Cox that is. CC Roster It should probably be someone who will definitely play, but just pick one. On a totally unrelated note, Colin Stuart looks like Ben Affleck.

Diggler Posted February 7, 2004 Posted February 7, 2004 Has nothing to do with the game but how about I HATE THE BADGERS
jloos Posted February 7, 2004 Posted February 7, 2004 Diggler, you are a genious. REA needs that one on the big screen, accompanied by "theme music"... This one has to be used. How but putting "Go back to your day job" under the picture.
siouxyeahyeah Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 You guys are really getting organized with the sign ideas and planning far in advance. Got any sign ideas for the WCHA Final Five yet? I have the "Minnesota: Land of 10,000 Excuses" sign sitting in my garage just begging to be used. I'll send it with my family if I can't make it to the cities.
siouxyeahyeah Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 Here's a few others: For the penalty box (if 2 Tigers in at once): "No, I will not make out with you!" -gotta love that line from Billy Madison Using CC, "Crappy College" or any variation of that... Too bad we have to be PC, cuz something about Sioux eating Tigers for dinner would be kinda funny....
redwing77 Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 Maybe something to the tune of Frosted Flakes and Tony the Tiger?
MinnesotaNorthStar Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 Bump. We could really get creative if the Braydn Cox sign just happens to be next to the RJ/SO one.
tboneund Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 "A Pair of Parises Beats All These Jokers" I love it!
YaneA Posted February 9, 2004 Author Posted February 9, 2004 "Boston: It's a Marathon" "Tigers: Can You Feel the Love?" [Echoing and perhaps making light of Kupchella 's Criticism & edited to make clear reference is to student-fans & not team]: "We Are The Clueless Led by the Classless"
sioux7 Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 Lets not forget that we owe these guys from last year. Lets stick it to these guys twice. Not once but twice. Then take care of Duluth and then lets hope and pray we meet Wisco in the playoffs. Payback is a b***h! GO SIOUX!
YaneA Posted February 9, 2004 Author Posted February 9, 2004 Redwing: Something ike this, maybe? "Tony the Tiger on CC, 'They're Grrr-adually Improving'"
