I saw this and I know its very early but its funny at what teams are at the top, nope not KU, not Duke or Michigan State...its Georgia Southern followed by Eastern Washington, and Alcorn State.

I am not sure why it is ranking UND behind NDSU after the thumping we took at Grand Forks. I suspect in a couple months the RPIs will more accurately reflect what the teams have done.

Probably because UND started out so low, and the only wins we have is UM-Morris, and NDSU.

rpi is based on schedule strength not how good your team is overall. winning obviously helps but still

According to CBS sports our current RPI is 143 and our strength of schedule is the 7th toughest in the nation to date.

I hope that is the true reason why we are 2-6. Once competition comes down to our level (since we can't play with the Ducks, Badgers or Butler level) we can win the conference and host the tournament.

RPI is a horrible ranking system in December. Slowly, the major programs are moving to the top but it will take well into February before it is fairly accurate.

Coincidentally, I see Calliou made it a part of his NDSU game story from last night. Idiot. Problem is those "die-hard" basketball fans will actually believe it.

So based on Kenpom we are 217 and South Dakota State is 191. Excellent chance for us to move up this Saturday.

I found this link predicting our RPI and if you click on the team name it gives predictions on our season. Our current RPI is 181, and they except UND to have an 11-17 season (8-10 in conference play).  Non DI teams are not included in records (and probably RPI)
