The Sicatoka Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I took the link in your post and did two things to it: 1) Removed the "s" --> http://... not https://... 2) Wrapped it in the square braced youtube tags you mention. That's it, and it works in your original post. Quote

jimdahl Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 The weird thing is, I still don't need to do that (change it from https to http, or manually create the youtube tags), so it still seems like an issue of the browser inserting some additional data beyond the plain text into the editor. That's what the paste as plain seemed to work around before. Anyway, I've got a major update to the forum software ready-to-go and will switch over sometime this summer. That's where all of the vendor's development efforts have been focused for a couple years, and among other things it features an entirely new editor, so we won't worry too much about the quirks of this one. dakotadan Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) I just noticed something. If I paste a youtube link as plain text and then hit space after the link as if I am going to continue typing it will not convert it to the video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8yvEfxl7b4 blah, blah, and keep on typingOr even post the link and then just hit space after it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8yvEfxl7b4 But if I paste the link as plain text then IMMEDIATELY hit enter/return and go to the next line to continue typing the video will embed itself. Just something I randomly noticed. Thought I would mention it. Edited August 4, 2015 by dakotadan Quote
jimdahl Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Good point, the link does have to be on its own line. Quote
