Oilcan89 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I received an email today about buying first round playoff tickets. The Series Packages go on sale tomorrow at 10am central. It looks like the students are on break that weekend(Mar 11-13). I have never been to the first round off the WCHA playoffs in Grand Forks. Does anyone have any thoughts? Should I try to get the tickets tomorrow? Or would it be ok, to just wing it? I only ask because I am unsure how many people I would have going. I realize alot of this depends on who the opponent winds up being. Quote
xI Hammer Ix Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 It will sell out, and sell out fast. Get tickets tomorrow. Any ticket bought from a third party will be at least double face value. Quote
siouxforce19 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Yeah, don't go around thinking because the students are on break that tickets will be easier. When I was in school, we stayed for the series, went home for a few days and hit up the final five the next weekend. Lots of students do this. Get tickets asap. It's the best bang for you buck you're going to get as the tickets are cheaper than most single game tickets. Of note, we were the only WCHA school to sell out our series last season. (Though we did play the Gophers) But I think we would of sold out either way. Quote
NorthDakotaHockey Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 This series will be the last chance that many very very good to great Sioux fans will have to see the Fighting Sioux play. Ever. They will not see them at the Final Five. They will not see them at the West Regional. They will not see them at the Frozen Four. They would love to do all, but their stations in life may not allow them that luxury. Therefore, they will go to the first round of the WCHA Playoffs. Next year, they, and us all, can see North Dakota, but not the Fighting Sioux, play hockey again. Sad. But most likely, absent a miracle, true. No more Fighting Sioux. Buy right away. It's a no brainer in my book. Quote

Add to this, that we have a coach who understands that he's the custodian of a great Fighting Sioux tradition, and a team filled with seniors, I expect the weekend to be a truly memorable performance. Buy now. You'll be glad you did. Quote

Life-long Sioux fans will be taking their kids, their parents, grandparents, etc., because this is it. Quote

GoalieMask Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 By the way, there's a big ticket mess going on now on Ticketmaster. If you go out there currently it shows EVERY SEAT at The Ralph is available for purchase. I called the REA Box Office and they were just made aware of the problem and they are working on fixing it. Just wanted to bring some folks back down to earth in case they are thinking they can purchase front row, center ice tickets. Quote

gfhomer Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Just got my student tickets and I must say, 4 tickets at $14/per is an absolute steal for the last game the Fighting Sioux play at REA. Could be a tearful weekend... Quote
