Considering the fact that he has 3 of the 4 goals that Boston has put in in the last 2 games, I'd have to ssay he's clicking well there. as much of a Canes fan as I am, i was cheering Bochenski on. way to go Bo

EDIT: And Ill tell you why they gave up 4 goals in the 2nd......3 were from Ray Whitney....he had a natural hat trick in 1:40 (100 secs), which was the fastest in franchise history, and fastest in the NHL this season so far.

The last player to score three times at even strength within 100 seconds was Bill Mosienko of the Blackhawks, who did it in 21 seconds against the Rangers in 1952.

Those 3 goals were all from right in front. If there would have been better defense in front, maybe they wouldnt have happened.

The other was from Justin Williams.

Yeah, and knowing the Bruins' management he's probably going to be traded or sent down by March. :glare::blush:

I sure hope not. Teams have a history of trading him away, even when he does really well. I mean, look what he did @ Norfolk this year before he was traded....he had more than 1 goal per game. Thats pretty damn good in my book. But was it enough to have him come up and play in a struggling Franchise team? apparently not in the eyes of the Bruins GM. So they trade him away for an underachieving d-man who will spend all or most of his time down in Norfolk while, in the meantime, Bo is up in Bean Town knockin in goal after goal and not losing a step. I know the Bruins have a history of letting people go prematurely, but if they let Bo go, or send him down to Providence, that will be their own undoing. He is the only one really holding them together since he has gone there.

Ryan Bayda was called back up to the Hurricanes today......the Canes lost Cory Stillman 2 games ago to a lower body injury, Erik Cole last night to a lower body injury, and Scott Walker last night to an uppoer body injury (probably broke his whole right arm after kicking the crap out of Andrew Alberts so they called up Bayda for the Minnesota game since the other 3 are day-to-day now.

Carolina's move to re-acquire center Josef Vasicek from Nashville may have been spurred, in part, by Carolina's unresolved injury issues.

Wing Cory Stillman (sprained knee) was placed on the injured list today and is expected to miss at least a week. Forwards Erik Cole and Scott Walker were scheduled to be re-examined later today when the team arrives in Minnesota.

Carolina lost Cole midway through the second period of Thursday night's 5-2 win over Boston when Cole slid into Glen Murray's right knee and suffered what could be a hip pointer.

Later that same period, Walker appeared to injure his right arm beating up on Boston's Andrew Alberts. X-rays taken Thursday night revealed no major injuries for either Cole or Walker.

With their availability for Saturday night's game against the Wild still "day to day", Carolina has called up Ryan Bayda from the Albany (N.Y.) River Rats, the Canes' AHL affiliate.

Last night, the Bruins announcers couldn't stop talking about Bochenski always being where the puck was. "When you're a natural goal scorer, the puck seems to follow you around, and it's certainly been following Brandon Bochenski around." Reply: "That's positioning and being where you are supposed to be, and Bochenski is where he is supposed to be. Right in front of the net." They kept commenting on it over and over.

I really hope he can keep it up -- it's made it pretty exciting to watch the Bruins.... (Between the Bruins and the Celtics things have been pretty dismal out here... The Celtics are shooting for 16 -- or is it 17 -- losses in a row.)

Bo didn't score last night.

Is he in Providence yet?

They'll probably give him one more game before shipping him down. In reality, it does look like the B's are giving him a legitimate shot to prove himself in the NHL. He's playing regular shifts and is getting a lot of time on the PP as well. Where he didn't score, he was instrumental in the B's getting their first goal last night as he was right in front of DiPietro to take his concentration away from the shooter, which Bo did.

Any one remember Bill Claviter who played D on the 87 Championship team? He is from my home town Virgina MN, any ways I grew up by him and I often get to go ice fishing with him and talk Pro/College Hockey with him just wondering if anyone knew him......

Worked construction one summer with Bill Claviter in Grand Forks for Peterson Construction. We built steam tunnels at the GFAFB. Good guy, we had quite the crew that summer!

Looks like Blake wants to move:

BOSTON - Impatient with the lack of progress toward a long-term contract, All-Star forward Jason Blake said this week that he probably will leave as a free agent if the Islanders don't sign him by the Feb. 27 NHL trade deadline.
