seeboys Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I'm going to guess that Walski starts today. The team will want to play hard for him. I was suprised Walski didn't play the third period of yesterday's game! Bemidji was not getting many shots on goal, and we had a nice lead. I am guessing he will see some time today! Quote

Siouxdonyms Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Hakstol's pre-game comments: Specialty teams were a big factor yesterday, but we worked hard to draw a lot of those PP, so we need to do that again. It has a lot to do with the intensity we come out of the locker room with. We came out of the locker room, scoring the 4th goal at the end of the 2nd. That was a huge goal, but it probably took a little of the edge off, and with the level that BSU plays, it's a lesson learned that you can't drop the intensity against this team. I know our guys will want to play hard for Walski. Hopefully we can take that want to do that, to good execution and play well in front of him. Aaron will be fine. He'll make the saves he needs to, but it helps when the guys play harder in front of him. We need to take care of the puck, advance the puck, and negate their speed on transition. There's nothing like game action, so the first 10 minutes will be important to Aaron. To get that speed of the game back, and everything that comes with it. Marto and LaPoint have played well thus far together, and they'll be together again tonight. LaPoint's had to work out of a funk, but hopefully, they'll play well again tonight. Need Davidson to play well. We're not giving him a freebie, we need him to play well. We think our line-up can get better from yesterday. We've been harping on Martens for 2 1/2 years, telling him he's had to show consistency, and quite frankly, he's done that over the past 5 weeks. We want to get a look at him with Trupp and Frattin. On the national scene, who knows how important it will turn out to be, but we're approaching it as a very important game on the national scene. Bottom line, we want to end the weekend on a good note, and keep things going. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 TH with the BSU coach: "Do you have to back off on your aggressiveness." BSU Coach: "We probably should, but we're not going to." Quote
AZSIOUX Posted February 24, 2008 Author Posted February 24, 2008 the bemidji coach is a cool dude. TH asks him if they will back off with being aggresive on the PK and he said we should but we arent going to then starts laughing he had it pre determined to play their 2nd goalie with the non conference series Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 BSU Coach on Oshie's play yesterday, "He was a stud! It's great when you see your best players as your hardest workers." Quote
