  1. #ProudAsHeck for my Orange boys. Absolutely Proud. As. Heck. But they didn't win it all so season is meaningless.
  2. I'm so so so SOOOO jealous of you all that are planning on going I think a trip with UND Hockey to the Big Apple, the Concrete Jungle where dreams are made of, will be an amazing experience. I have so many memories in NYC that it will always have a special place in my heart, and I WISH I could add UND v BC in the World's Most Famous Arena to that list I'm heavily lobbying my friends and family to go in my place...like I'm sending my jersey and other Sioux gear to them. Hopefully they get the hint. Also stay away from the Hotel Pennsylvania
  3. My god.....Meme game strong, my friend. Meme game so strong. Big Cat meme is ELECTRIC. Absolutely electric. God I love being part of Sioux nation.
  4. And we have our Barstool Sports Frozen Four preview! What a great, classy read! Love these guys Couple thoughts on it: 1) LOVE that he calls us "The North Dakota Fighting Sioux" 2) When he mentions "Pres" in the blog, he's referring to the founder of Barstool, who went to Michigan and was doing some serious Twitter chirping during their game against Notre Dame....needless to say he remained quiet during the UND game 3) Couldn't agree more with his way-to-early National Championship prediction #DrizzyDrake
  5. Ok so I was waaaaaaaaaay off on my prediction. What a year for me. Syracuse AND Sioux make it to the Final/Frozen Four. Life is good.
  6. Another game for Cam against a team from his home state. Hope he dials in and is a brick wall. Is it going to be a pro-Michigan crowd? I saw a lot of yellow in the crowd from the picture I saw of the ND/UM game. Hope I'm wrong and there is plenty of green! Excited for this game, should be a fun one to watch!
  7. Unable to watch, so idk what the arena atmosphere is like. All I can assume is that...
  8. Here's an article from my favorite "news" site, Barstool Sports (of Boston, soon to be of NYC) of what teams to bandwagon on for this NCAA hockey tournament. No surprise North Dakota is featured first http://www.barstoolsports.com/philadelphia/if-you-need-a-college-hockey-bandwagon-to-jump-on-as-the-tournament-starts-heres-some-options/ If you don't know Barstool...enjoy they've got a lot of funny content, not all of which is safe for work so beware
  9. Down with Hockey Least! (And the "Bee One Jee") 2 pm Eastern. Friday. Cincinnati. Be there or be square, Northeastern. EDIT: You should abosolutely be looking at the gif while listening to this
  10. If Syracuse loses to Gonzaga, I blame you for jinxing it SWSiouxMN. JK Syracuse will lose to the Zags. So if you're a betting person, go for the Zags. Syracuse can't compete with a competent team like them. Big players who can play defense AND penetrate our 2-3 zone!? Forget it, my boys in Orange are donezo!!!! Great season tho
  11. Meanwhileeeeeeee.....my Syracuse Orange keeeeeep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'What?Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'Come onKeep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'YeaKeep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
  12. I agree with a lot of people on here regarding the teams motivation and mentality going into this regional and their first game against Northeastern. Listening to the seniors in that Through These Doors and remembering the TTD episodes at the end of seasons gone by, it reminds me that the players go out there in the NCAA tournament knowing full well what North Dakota Fighting Sioux Hockey means to that program, this school, this town, even this state. More importantly, however, they know what it means for their fellow teammates. Seniors go out and fight hard for their fellow seniors, and their juniors, sophomores and freshman. The same holds true regardless of what year you are. I remember watching players in tears when their season ended in the tournament, because they wanted to win it all for their school, their coaches, their town and most importantly their teammates. We see the smiles on their faces when they pose for the photo with the Penrose Cup, or win their regional and get to attend the Frozen Four....imagine the agony on their faces when they lose their chance at the National Championship trophy. No one should have any doubt regarding this teams motivation, passion, or mentality going into this tournament. If they run into a team who happens to skate faster, pass better, and shoot more accurately on that given night then so be it. No one can blame our players for "not wanting to be the team that hangs this school's EIGHTH banner," because we all know they desperately want that. Sometimes a puck takes an unexpected bounce. Sometimes the referees make a weird call. At the end of the day, those guys go out on the ice to represent the University of North Dakota, to represent Grand Forks, to represent their families, and most importantly to represent each other. I'm excited to watch them play against (Hopefully win against) a great team like Northeastern. Lets. Go. Sioux.
  13. And correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I saw they had UND's record as "36-4"....isn't it 30-6-4?
  14. "UND you get to play in the third place game"
  15. HD cameras??? In this economy?! Target Center could only afford a potato for it's cameras. I'm like 97% sure there is a hockey puck on that ice...I just can't see it... I feel like this team is the Timberwolves with all the losing we do in this building....
  16. Target Center....I don't know, man...I don't know. Not our place
  17. Maybe we'll play well one day in the Frozen Faceoff
  18. An article in the NYT about Quinnipiac being a hockey school. I have to say I am happy for Quinnipiac. Although that "...before Quinnipiac became an epicenter of college hockey," line really made me laugh. I know QU is a great team, especially this year. But come on, epicenter of college hockey? Bit of an overstatement, no? A few National Championships (Or ya know, seven) and they can cement their epicenter status. They did handle St. Cloud pretty well at the beginning of the season (5-2, and 4-1). We'll see if the Cats can make some noise this postseason.
  19. Being from Connecticut, the only reason I go to NYC is for games at MSG. The city is a complete dump as far as I'm concerned. (Boston is better...) I stopped going to NYC after I went with some friends on New Years Day.......total mistake If you've planned a trip for toursity things.....god speed, I guess everyone has to do it once!! . It's definitely different than quaint Grand Forks. ***Except for the 9/11 memorial. That's very well done and I would recommend that to everybody!! Emotional, patriotic, just amazingly well done!! Highly recommend.*** Obviously UND will prevail with a win at the Worlds Most Famous Arena. No doubt. Let's go Sioux!
  20. I did my fair share (and beyond) of complaining of Fighting Hawks during the voting process, but I'm a man of democracy and I recognize when I have lost a battle. I won't buy Fighting Hawks gear for myself just yet (But I did buy my brother a Fighting Hawks sweatshirt because he loved my Fighting Sioux jersey I'm diabolical, I love it.), I'll wait for the logo! I believe in my heart of hearts the school will do what's right and adopt a bada$$ logo to lift the Fighting Hawks name from ambiguity. I know we have it in us! I will say during Christmas dinner, my step-brother asked what UND had chosen as its nickname, and I replied "Fighting Hawks." He replied "Oh just like UHart!" (University of Hartford). Not exactly the company I was hoping to keep, but we are who we are. Side note: these Quinnipiac people are giving me guff because USCHO has UND as #1 and some other poll (Idk which exactly) has QU as #1. I told them they're delirious. End of rant.
