I wouldn’t say he is undersized. He was the best DE we had on the team. The defense wasn’t playing well since he got hurt. This one will have a huge effect on next year unfortunately.

Ben transferring hits the most out of all of them. Why it hurts the most is the defense needs all the help they can get and quality depth isn’t there. He was one of the best players on the field before he got hurt. Not sure he goes FBS going into the transfer portal injured.

Thought he had another year left. Wish him the best!

Did we play any teams this year with a poor QB in need of replacement?

Dixon needs to start seeing the field so I’m not too worried about the former transfer leaving. We didn’t see enough interceptions this year to say those guys deserve their spots back. We have enough recruits and other guys waiting for their turn at CB. Safety hopefully has enough dudes to step up

LB was thin this year, something needs to change big time and having 0 LB commits makes it even worse

Never said we need to bring in another DC that runs a 3-4, bubba needs to swallow his pride and change the scheme

The DC job could and probably should open up this offseason. This is something we should be pushing for because the defense this year was unacceptable. Something major needs to change and it’s not just a personnel problem. We can’t endure another season of poor defense.

So do we go after Andrew Schuster to replace his brother Tommy? Looks to be committed to Grand Valley but did have a couple d1 non scholarship offers. Worked out the first time…….

Do we really need a portal QB transfer? How about bringing in another HS recruit? Shouldn’t threaten the top dogs to being in young underclassmen

Why would Kaminski transfer out? He’s literally a freshman. Where would he go? and the only place I see Feeney going is the baseball route if he ever left. The transfer portal is no guarantee. either QB could be named the starter and either could get hurt or underperform and get replaced by the other. I don’t see either leaving now.

Can he coach defense and a 4-3???

He probably wants to play more, he got a business degree so might not be about the graduate program

Graduated as a Junior! Although it’s been all Seniors so far who are transferring this is one is unfortunate. Must want to play more than fighting for time in the deep WR room. Good luck to him going forward!

Tommy’s height was the only reason he didn’t get D1 offers, only reason! think about this for a second…… Danny has recruited a QB that was Michigan player of the year, Wisconsin player of the year, and a Minnesota player of the year

There is definitely a chance if some FBS teams see his tape, but his lack of accolades (unjustly) will probably hurt his P5 prospects. He no doubt could play in the P5 with his skill set, but are teams willing to give him a shot? I agree he wouldn’t transfer just to go play at some random G5 school. He lives and breathes UND which is awesome for the program.

I wouldn’t think he would want to end his career injured but also depends how bad the injury was. And if he wants pro looks he probably needs to come back for another year

If Belquist got the recognition he truly deserves he would be getting FBS offers right and left. He could still getting those offers and is turning them down to stay. Either way it really says something about his character if he does decide to stay. We have been very lucky to land that local kid who turned out to be huge for this program. Dare I say we would have had losing seasons without him!

Only thing to enjoy about the season is that we beat NDSU. They are still in the playoffs and nearly got a seed this year. Their dynasty in ND is not over until we are a more successful team than the one in Fargo. Getting smoked in the Fargodome next year will make everyone forget about our one big win. UND had a chance this year to turn it around and they failed…../

That should be a bare minimum expectation every year. Heck even a first round loss would make it a down year. Missing the playoffs should never be acceptable for any excuses.
