NORTH DAKOTA @ Quinnipiac - SATURDAY Gameday NCAA TITLE GAME
snova4 replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
I'd say Chyzyk gets moved to the second line. St. Claire takes his spot. -
I purposely stayed off here during the game. My heart couldn't handle it as it was. I was doing a lot of bitching to the people around me though, especially about the too many men on the ice. When the announcers are laughing saying "there's another" it's a bit ridiculous. I did however say, even Denver iced the puck that it would be karma finally coming back around to us if we scored off the faceoff with under a minute to go. My wife looked at me after we finished screaming and asked if I really though that was going to happen. I didn't think it was going to happen, I knew it was going to happen.

"Look at Anas dangle" Lol. No, no I will not look at an Anas dangle.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2015-16 season

I liked it better when they wanted him to stay another year. -
How do I not remember that? I must have been working, otherwise there'd be a beer can dent in my TV screen.

While that's true, I think my biggest problem is that all season long these guys were made to essentially be hockey gods. Then they put all three of them as Hobey finalists. While yes, they are offensively talented, they are lazy defensive players.
-
I'm going to be in Denver that weekend, if they win in Thursday, I may have to make my way to Littleton.
-
Yes, but would those 3 go -7?
-
Probably less to do with how they played, and more to do with their competition in the game.
-
I wasn't the one that said I wouldn't take him on the team, obviously he's very good. What irritates me to no end is the fact that Michigan has supposedly 3 of the best 10 players in college hockey on one line, when it should be obvious that the competition, or lack thereof, evidently wasn't taken into consideration. That lines numbers are extremely inflated due to the fact they play in the Big, and then beyond that faced almost noone in out of conference scheduling. Two of the teams that did make the tournament, of the 3 they played, needed to win a conference tournament to make it. I believe, they would have put up similar stats, maybe a little less, than the CBS line in the NCHC. Still very, very good, but not three Hobey candidate good.

Sorry, I can't get rid of the quote box above, if it shows up after I post this. The 71 points that Connor scored this year is impressive, but Michigan only played 5 games against teams that made the tournament. 1 against Ferris, 2 against BU I believe, and 2 against RIT. That isn't exactly facing the top competition in the country.

Does this game go through to next year if there's no winner? Either way, Drake for Thursday.

I was just replying to the question brought up about home games. I'm against the possibility myself. Be in the conference that focuses on hockey, but at the same time, I'm not under the illusion that the Bigs problems are going to long lasting. Enjoy their mediocrity while you can, they have proud programs that won't stay down forever.

I think it's been pretty well established that with hockey being the main show on campus, that worry will have zero effect on season ticket holders. Out of town games, might cause problems once in a while.

The aspect that makes me feel the best, is although they got points on the weekend, we received scoring from areas besides CBS. That #2 line of Johnson/Gardner/Poganski was absolutely phenomenal this weekend.
-
I'll start with stating I have no inside info, but with how tough of a decision Ladue apparently had last summer, I just assume it's a foregone conclusion. Stecher, I agree with whoever said he's the best player on the team, has said in the past he saw himself as a four year player. He's on the small side for the NHL, so the more hype he can get the better, and my one inside discussion I happened on, the scout said they'd like to see him play another year.
-
I'm actually 95% confident Stecher comes back. Ladue is nearly a guarantee that he's gone. I say Schmaltz is 50-50. I think it'd be a mistake if the Poganski thing is true.
-
I may have misconstrued what I meant, I know I've ragged on Cam in the past but he played well this weekend. He stoned Michigan on a couple that he could have easily let in. What I meant by that was that I want him to shut everyone out to make it easier on my heart. Leave no doubt who the truly best team is in the nation this year. He wasn't lights out this weekend, but if he plays like he did this weekend, there's no reason we're not 8 time champion after the 9th.
-
This would be a good time for Cam to start a new run at the consecutive shutout minutes record.
-
Exorcise some demons. Defeat Michigan, defeat Denver in two weeks, and beat BC to get sixteen years of monkeys off our backs. Schmaltz, Boeser, Stecher, Ausmus and Ladue have so much fun, they all come back to do it again.
-
I told my wife that if this team manages to win it, Sanderson is going to have the game winner.
-
Lindgren is attempting his best Gothberg impression.
-
Man, Ferris blew some great chances there. Shoot the puck!

Plus one here. Defense needs to be lockdown tomorrow. Don't give that top line any room to breath.
