  1. Friend of mine made me laugh with all this mess. He said, when Ben Jacobson got the applause it pissed off Jones. So Jones decided to show them how well the team could do without him coaching them.
  2. Jones needs to be let go as soon as possible. Some believe that the team will be more successful without him. It certainly can't get worse. He has given multiple games to use for reasoning to be let go, including just recently. But the most recent, glaring issues, I believe, happened yesterday. He sat down in the first half and stopped coaching entirely, he became a spectator. I have never see a coach become that disinterested. Then, he had a terrible interview and took no blame for the loss, pushing it all on his players. Again, I have never seen a coach who takes that bad of a loss and not take the blame. That is exactly when he should say he failed preparing them I could give plenty more instances, but the most recent ones are reason enough to be let go. If a coach is ill-prepared and/or disinterested for a game like that, either way it shows he just doesn't care or is not suited for the position.
  3. What I was told is that the coach told them to do something different than what they had practiced. So, in order to ensure certain players retain playing time, as dumb as that instruction sounded, they did what he said and ran what he called. And in the first half, coach sat down for an extended period and didn't coach. Pathetic
  4. This is the biggest worry. There are rumblings already. This needs to be addressed so that the talent amassed can be kept at UND and a coach that wants to coach them can come in and bring this program back up.
  5. I have been advocating for Jones to retain his job and wait to see what he does with all the young talent he had coming in. After watching the game and seeing things that you should never see any head coach do (and hoping to see some adjustments most coaches figure out), then watching the video...I say fire him! I will be contacting Faison Monday AM, I suggest everyone contact as many people they can and ask them to do the same. The most effective example to use for a reason is the drubbing on the court, leading to the interview where he takes no blame. THAT IS NOT A LEADER OF YOUNG MEN!
  6. This! Don't let up in any game until it's far out of hand, preferably in UND's favor. Don't leave any out for the committee.
  7. Agreed. Need the bigs to show up and play, I believe the guards can hold their own.

  10. As long as a kid hasn't signed anything, they should be considered open game, especially when a coaching change happens. The saying goes, "the player is committing to the program, not the coach." But most of us know that is BS, in majority of cases. If there is a kid that UND wants that verbally committed to USD or MSU, they should reach out to him and see if this alters his decision. It gets bit murky when they have signed LOI, but it's not unprecedented to go back door and contact the recruit. Then they just have to get released from LOI from that school, which isn't always the easiest, but it happens when there a coaching changes.
  11. I've been one to say wait and see what he does with the young guys, while saying this should be the season that determines what happens with his position. After watching the game this evening, I am quite worried about this team this year. I saw too many issues on the floor that should not have been there. He needs to be coaching for his job, and I don't know if he is aware of that.
  12. I understand slowing the game down some, but it would have been nice to see them open it up some as the game started going fast on the other end too. I know they want to runout more with this team. rough night shooting. 3pm tomorrow
  13. Home court is worth approximately four points. I say don't call this an upset. Let's expect a win. Time to raise expectations.
  14. Hopefully the Betty is filled to capacity for the game!
  15. 11AM eastern. Supposedly on something called a "television." That's what some old guy called it anyway
  16. Could that be called a F'Hawking problem? Sorry couldn't help myself
  17. Don't really care about bids. Would love to see a playoff game at Alerus, but just want in. When can we find out if we get in?
  18. This is a very promising young team. They play very smart, and look for each other, almost to a fault. There were a few easy baskets given up for an extra pass. These guys may be "just ballin," but their on court intelligence is showing. They are playing the game like it's supposed to be played. If teams want to single up the bigs and play straight across on the guards, I say, let them. I will take any three of Q, Geno, Seales, Baldwin, and McDermott in the backcourt against anyone right now.
  19. I can't find verification on ESPN3 either. It is on neversports tho. I believe thru Atlantic Sun. Will try to find link and post SUNDAY on ESPN3 TODAY: http://eversport.tv/atlantic-sun
  20. Completely agree. Saw this on other thread. They should have the logo designed by someone local and/or within UND. https://www.change.org/p/the-university-of-northd-dakota-fighting-hawks-logo?recruiter=22043669&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=share_page&utm_term=mob-xs-share_petition-custom_msg
  21. I'll trust you on parking issue. Haven't seen it at hockey, I imagine it's bad. But why not try and run it at 5pm. Do a ticket special and get some of the hockey fans into game beforehand. There's ways to get more people in the stands and not have a 3pm game. The workers could be let go late in second half to get over to Ralph and work. That part would be easy.
  22. Agreed! An opening game at 3pm is ridiculous! Run it just before hockey and bring in both crowds. I can't believe how inept the athletic department is when it comes to other sports.
  23. Experience is subjective. Many kids have played at high level with their school and AAU program. With some competing and winning their state championships. Would take that experience over the last few years of players that have college playing time (minus couple exceptions). Like these what these guys showed overseas. The unselfishness the team showed overseas, with the ability to fight for a win, and finding the scorer in Hooker (which they needed), is something this team is now building on. Most of the players roles are now defined. They are now working on getting better together and proving the polls wrong.
