  1. He will have a degree. I agree with you on preferring to use scholarship on a high school player. Although, if he stayed then it would be worthwhile. And yes, Crandall could have played, but then you have another guard to find minutes for. From what I understand, he has plans; and is also helping bring other players of a high caliber here.
  2. I do believe he was on scholarship last year. Obviously, you would expect him to play his final year of eligibility, but sometimes players lose that drive, and want to move on with their lives. I know he was expected to come back, and hope he does. But I have heard he wants to get on with his professional life, whatever that goes, and be with his family. To that, I say good luck. Yes, Antwi could have gotten some of those minutes, and should have gotten more, anyway. He should have gotten TDR's time! Crandall needed to gain weight, and being young, it doesn't hurt taking the year to get acclimated to school. If he did play, then you have another guard to find minutes for. Let him sit and have four years to help bring this team to dominance in the Big Sky.
  3. If all you got out of that info was that I was a Jones supporter, I'm sorry you couldn't see that we should be congratulating Tyler. Presuming he is leaving, he used the system to his advantage, and accomplished what he was supposed to. Great work by that young man!
  4. I disagree with this entirely! And his stats would say otherwise as well. He played 2nd most minutes and was 2nd in 3pt % and makes. If a player decides that he wants to be done with his college career, upon graduation (which is the goal), then congratulations to him. It's unfortunate if he does not come back, he could be valuable next year. If he wants to be with his family, even more congratulations go to him! There needs to be more young men in the world like him.
  5. That is a pretty BIG selling point though. Can you hear thier AD's begging UND to join? Asking, "please come kick our @$$ twice a year?" That is just a great thought!
  6. UND hockey to B1G...That would essentailly mean the B1G screwed up, and saying to UND, "We need you." Now the hypothetical really expands: Could UND use that to open door for other programs? That is more likely than NDSU going to Big12 football (unless everyone else on their list to bring in to have playoff declines). And as much money as it could potentially bring, I would hope the powers that be would tell the B1G to "SUCK IT!" (DX) Let them struggle in that wonderful conference they created
  7. A kid that should have came here to begin with, wanted to go farther away. Then wants to come "home." UND recruited him to begin with, and now they get him. He is an excellent young man. He also has a desire to win, another kid like that on this team only helps!
  8. He'll be here. SIMPLE
  9. This is who should be tapped for an assistant job if there is going to be a replacement. I dont know why they haven't gotten one here yet. Yes maybe there wont be a replacement in order to pay more money, but it could all change next year. Finally, fans/alumni need to voice there concerns for lack of commitment to the program and demand change. There should be enough alumni alone to make this a big issue. It wouldnt take much to make this a top program in the Big Sky, even at the mid-major level.
  10. Transfers, Juco, walk-on that has earned one, recruits that they have eye on but didn't have open scholarship. I'd put money on a transfer from another school who wants to get closer to home.
  11. You inferred he was quality, but that's another dialog... Sure he was an assistant in a better conference, under a better coach, getting better players. He was brought in to coach bigs, how well have they progressed? I hope he enjoys his new school and position, and succeeds. He is coaching with someone he has coached with before. When you don't pay much, this happens. ***And I'm not advocating for pay raises, to be clear.
  12. Doesn't he have to wear a yellow helmet on the rigs?
  13. Yeah, he had a one year penalty for not giving information to investigators (show cause penalty). Don't get hung up on that tho. Can't talk about your boss (Head Coach Bruce Pearl) doing illegal things and expect to keep your job or get another one when you need to.
  14. If players dont develop it is on the assistants. So, how quality was he?
  15. Tyler Harvey, G, Eastern Washington, to enter NBA Draft. Don't have to face him next year...hopefully. Good luck young man!
  16. I think its quite apparent that he has turned football around already. Only one year, true, but you could tell a difference in the players. And you could see the difference on the field. Hopefully that equals more wins, but the program is in a better place.
  17. Ahhh...So there is a method to the madness?
  18. Do I dare ask?
  19. If he really wants to go he will. Especially if he has connections with another coach. Admin should be talking to everyone including players, and they would find out if they want him to stay or not. If they wanted him to stay, then get him more money. This happens often if they value him as an assistant. However, if they dont feel he fits in well, then keep the money and look for a better/different assistant coach.
  20. If we lose any of the incoming guys or Hooker, Crandall, Shanks, or Cashman. Then we have major issues. Some of these transfers have personal reasons for leaving. Can't quite make the leap to the players wanting Jones gone. We "idiots" can keep complaining, but he ain't gone yet, so likely not going anywhere this year.
  21. Same thing. Wasn't sure of deRouen's status. But Tyler ain't transferring.
  22. It is on verbal commits also. I wish admin would release info before we find out about it elsewhere.
  23. Don't mean to sound like gfhockey, but...I'm fairly certain there will be at least one more. It is a personal decision.
  24. I don't know about Coleman...Disappointed with Shields leaving also. Possibly due to not being on scholarship? Or going closer to home, that's very common. Either way, that's a tough one to lose. And good luck to both of them!
  25. Ill say it again. I think there should be high expectations. BSC tournament semis or better. He seems to have recruited well, live or die with the young guys next year. No way he goes into lame duck year as coach. If we meet those expectations next year, great. If not...
