Yep he had a few FBS offers. I am surprised since the Big Sky is such an advantage for recruiting, he didn't get on board with Bubba Gump and company. NDSU has really lost their edge when it comes to recruiting. Clearly UND is gaining on them and the national TV experiences have done nothing.

Pay just fine. Have the day off and traveling. Boring ride.

One of the worst* Better?
-
Common knowledge. The firms recruited at both NDSU and UND. Also had friends at UND who interviewed the day after I did and were turned down for 2 of those positions.
-
Meh, we only measure success in one game and it is not against UND. 11-1 fella.
-
Darell, Nice talking to you, as always. I know you will be sitting at home tonight with your pillow, watching NDSU play football, and praying to god they get beat. Have to get back on the road so I can go support my university tonight. Take care.

FCS has added a lot to fan satisfaction versus watching us play NAIA schools. Correct me if I am wrong but hockey is played in the winter and for the majority of the season, those two sports do not overlap and should not interfere with fan attendance. Again, it is pathetic that a flagship university is only have 6-7k fans show up for a game in October. Good try though to bring up hockey. I know you try to do it as much as possible to bridge the gap in an argument.

Around 12k. NDSU has been D1 now for over a decade. You are really really reaching. Even when it only was 12k average attendance and D2, we still weren't showing up with only 6k at home games, like UND had this year. It is pathetic for a so called flagship university. Jesus, there are more than 6k NDSU fans in attendance during some of our ROAD games.

The 3-8 season NDSU averaged around 16,515 if I am not mistaken. One of the best in the FCS. First playoff game, which was over Thanksgiving, was 12,500 if memory serves me correct. Call it what you want, but NDSU fans show up and support NDSU, even during bad seasons. During the worst season in 50 years, NDSU averaged 16,515 fans...more fans then have ever attended a single home UND football game. True fans at NDSU. Not band wagon jumpers like UND. How do fans help? When you have 19k people screaming and hitting decibel levels in the 100's, you are going to make it very difficult for the opposing offense to operate. You see a lot of teams come into the dome and the noise overwhelms them.

That is good that you played at UND....Wish I had the opportunity to play college athletics. For the record, I don't hate UND. I have never openly rooted against them to loose ever unless they are playing NDSU or them winning have a bearing on NDSU making the post season.

Guess I wasn't aware UND played NFL teams....
-
I had 6 job offers a year before graduating and beat out UND candidates for positions at most of those places. I really didn't think I would get a job over those UND candidates. I mean my god, your university is Ivy League status. Give me a break.....
-
Wasn't UND just named one of those worst medical schools in the nation? I thought that place was Harvard.....
-
UND did make the hypothetical playoffs.
-
Yes you are right, along with any team. Winning on the road is a hard thing to do. That is why the coaches say winning the championship starts with game 1.

Being a fan, along with a teammaker, is all I can do. Maybe if UND had more fans, your team would be more successful on the field. Having fans like NDSU has helped this team tremendously by having what might be the best home field advantage in the FCS. You guys try to tear down anything NDSU does using whatever crazy logic you can come up with, including now this playoff road argument. Again, until your team does something, don't puff your chest acting like NDSU has something to prove.

Not having to play road playoff games and at the same time win 3 consecutive national championships and at least play a semi final game in 4 years means you are doing something right as a program. Not having to play games on the road as a 1 or 2 seed....that should be the goal of every team heading into the playoffs. How many playoff games has UND played in since moving up again?
-
They like the idea of playing touch football, aka Big Sky football. Hardly any tackling goes on in the Big Sky and most players are done with football come Thanksgiving.
-
When is the last time UND beat NDSU on an ND recruit? Weston Dressler is the last player I can think of.
-
UND has gone away. SDSU and UNI out recruit you in addition to NDSU. In addition, the fact that UND plays in the big sky will continue to hurt them in recruiting.

Do you guys think UM is the only FBS school that recruits Minnesota or something ? Every Big 10 school recruits Minnesota. If UM missed out on guys like Billy Turner, so did Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan State etc. A lot of these guys that went to NDSU and went on to play in the NFL were not even close to the same quality player their senior year as freshman. NDSU does a better job of developing players than perhaps any college program in the nation. Who knows. Billy Turner could have went to Minnesota, sat behind more talented players, never developed under coach Kramer and Fuchs, started his senior year and been half the player he was at Minnesota as he was at NDSU. Someone mentioned Paul Cornick. Paul was a walk on at NDSU for christ sakes. NDSU could have even missed out by not offering a scholarship. Again, clearly he was not Big 10 talent coming into his freshman year. NDSU developed him into an NFL player. Only guy on this run that was a Big 10 player out of high school was Crockett. He had every Big 10 school after him, but his grades were atrocious due to being homeless. Up until these last few years, I never saw NDSU winning recruiting battles over quality FBS teams. Last year, QB recruit picked NDSU over a full ride at Rutgers. This year it appears Ben Ellefson is staying at NDSU rather than going to Purdue. They have been getting better at recruiting, not worse. When it comes to ND, these young kids are growing up watching NDSU on Saturdays, watching NDSU on ESPN etc. NDSU will dominate recruiting in ND and western Minnesota for years to come.

All UND fans want for Christmas is a Bison loss. Still living vicariously through NDSU's success and failure rather than supporting and focussing on your own team. Definition of a loser fan base.

Lost track of how many nationally televised games NDSU has had over the past few years. I think it is up to 13. You also had 2 Gameday appearances in Fargo. NDSU's recruiting classes have gotten better and better. Last year's class with Stick, might be the best NDSU has ever had. Clearly national recognition is huge for recruiting.
