  1. Sweet practice field..... You guys should have added another few hundred seats so the couple hundred of you, or whatever UND's game day attendance is these days, could see UND play on campus.
  2. 1. I realize it very well. It is still a !@#!$ deal. 2. I had a cousin and best friend who graduated with me in 2011. Represents a fantasy football team name that we have together. I get the concept very well. 3. I get the history very well but it is apparent your fan base doesn't as the lines of what happened in 2003 are very skewed and blurred by your fan base. History did not mean jack !@#$ to you back then and you flushed away an annual rivalry game when it did not have to be. 4. I understand what is best for UND football. Playing NDSU in order to hopefully win and start getting recruits. Bubba knows this.
  3. Teams who are on the same level do not accept two games on the road for peanuts. Has there ever been a program that has accepted something so ridiculous?
  4. Boy what leadership you have there in Bubba. A guy who will get down on his knees and give a rival whatever they want. I would be humiliated if I was an NDSU fan and accepted that offer. Definitely would not be enthusiastic if the guy leading my struggling football program would do something like this.
  5. Why did they play UNI in 2006 then? They were not on a level playing field. Why does UND schedule FBS teams when they are not on a level playing field? You guys are so dam two faced in your arguments. The scholarship debate the good for the state debate. All BS. UND did not want to help NDSU in 2003 or 2004 and thought they would fail at D1 athletics. The time has turned and now you want to play NDSU to earn your credibility in recruiting battles. Nothing else could explain that desperate humiliating offer UND accepted from NDSU to play in 2015 and 2019. No football program who is on a level playing field, as you oh so frequently remind NDSU of, would accept a ludicrous offer like that other than a bottom feeder program trying to do whatever it can to rise up. In 1981 and 1993, you did not have NDSU playing bitch to UND or UND playing bitch to NDSU like that. The gap now is far greater than it ever has been. You are throwing a Hail Mary with NDSU sitting there having nothing to gain.
  6. UND decided in the mid 2000's was best for the success of their program. Hardly anyone here critiquing that decision back then and you are still defending it now. I come on here and say NDSU not playing UND is best for the success of NDSU and I am a prick and clearly wrong. I have gone back in sioux sports through 2010 and there was nowhere near this type of support from you guys for this game. Then all of a sudden 2011 happens and you think it is a travesty the game isn't happening on an annual basis. By 2014 you have a state legislature member, UND alum, pushing for the game to be law. Funny Hugh?
  7. But it still would have been good for the state right? And the people in the state still wanted it back then, right?
  8. So what. Does UND refuse to play FBS teams due to scholarship differences? Also YOU PLAYED other FCS schools during the NDSU transition. 2006 UNI remember? Your greatest victory ever.
  9. Yes you are right on this. My mistake. I have a hard time believing that the MV accepted USD so easily but would have turned down UND.
  10. Due to the nickname issue and nickname issue only. They accepted USD with open arms.
  11. Look at the comments the IW coach made before the NDSU on what a win against NDSU would do for their program.
  12. If you want to play NDSU every year, why doesn't UND attempt to get into the MV?
  13. Not delusional it is reality. When UND beat NDSU in the early 90's it turned the table for your program.
  14. UND beating NDSU will obviously help their program and hurt our program. Why did UND refuse to play NDSU even when the D2 playoff rules changed?
  15. Darrell1976, There is no point in arguing this. You are wrong, as usual. You want the game because you think beating NDSU is your key to success. Nothing wrong in admitting it.
  16. There was a very small majority of you on here in 2003 that wanted to continue the game. Your AD actually came out and publicly stated they would not continue playing NDSU due to the fact that it could negatively impact the success of their team. I am stating the exact same argument that your AD made. Shouldn't be a problem for you to find reason in it.
  17. Darrell, How old is your father in law? 75-80? Guess it would make sense. I guess I would have a little bit more perspective on it since a.) I went to school at NDSU b.) actually attend NDSU games and tailgate and have talked to hundreds of fans about it. Your small sample size does nothing. NDSU won't buy out the game. We can't even pay a D2 team that little amount of money to play us. Goes to show how desperate UND is for that game. They agreed to the worst deal I have ever heard of in D1 football out of desperation to rekindle their program.
  18. The State of North Dakota, with all of the revenue it has, is an embarrassment in terms of higher education funding, let alone athletics. Every penny that goes into facilities is done through private donations. Hell the state won't even let UND and NDSU bond for athletic facilities. The students, alumni, and teammakers members are the ones who make NDSU's athletic success.
  19. NDSU gets mentioned almost every week on ESPN college gameday.
  20. Yes I watched it. Times have changed. UND was once the game NDSU fans looked forward to. Well before we started playing FBS teams and winning FCS championships. You guys want the game because you know beating NDSU is the fastest way to build your program. Nothing wrong in saying it. If UND fans want the game so bad on a constant level, admit the Big Sky is not a good fit and petition the MV and SL for an invitation.
  21. Basketball is different. When I look at recruiting, there doesn't appear to be as many of the same kids both schools are fighting for. I think the talent pool is deeper. I don't buy the good for the state at all. This isn't the old D2 days. You start splitting talent and both schools are mediocre 7 win teams. Personally I think it is better for one ND to be an FCS powerhouse and gain ESPN exposure on a constant basis rather than two mediocre programs.
