  1. I guess I don't want to play UND anymore because I don't see anything to gain out of it. Look at recruiting right now. NDSU is dominating ND and Minnesota FCS talent. If the rolls were reversed, why would you even want to give NDSU the sniff of an opportunity to gain credibility through a win? Not saying I am scared. I am very confident NDSU will crush UND next year, but stranger things have happened. I think there is also a small fraction of fans who want UND to burn for as long as possible for ending the rivalry in 2003 when we moved up. You guys can point to the whole D2 wins playoff argument but the fact simply is that the rules for D2 playoff games were changed that summer. Admit it or not, Roger Thomas thought he would be burying NDSU buy not playing them. It turned out to be the exact opposite . I guess a lot of NDSU fans don't feel like helping UND out by giving you a shot at getting a jump start for your program, when UND would not help NDSU out when we struggled to find games. For the record I am not one of those guys. I don't dwell on the past.
  2. Good question. Didn't make much sense to me either. Maybe Joe Glenn is auditioning for a job at NDSU after he is fired this year.
  3. Just stating what I have been told from players I know. Why would Joe Glenn make that comment if it wasn't the truth? For the record I have no clue about Bubba's staff recruiting methods. He probably is much different than Lennon and Muss.
  4. I have a few friends that played for NDSU, but who UND wanted bad. One was recruited under Lennon and the other 2 under Muss. What Joe Glen said closely resembled what they told me about their visits with UND. They said more time was spent trying to convince them why NDSU and SDSU sucked rather than time spent discussing the program at UND.
  5. Teams are selected but in conferences that are not strong, the 4th best team does not tend to get in due a quality of wins factor. Last week was week 10 of rankings. I think there are 1 or two that come out before the season starts.
  6. Two quick questions for you. 1.) Has the 7th best conference in the FCS, according to the Sagarin rankings, ever had 4 teams in the playoffs? 2.) Has a team that was unranked and not receiving a single vote, in either the coaches poll or Sports Network poll, as of Week 10, ever went on to then make the playoffs?
  7. Do you think a single NDSU fan out there feels any remorse for not getting Molberg? There is a reason Molberg went to UND and not NDSU. He wanted to play rather than ride the pine behind Carson Wentz. Please name the last recruit since 2010 that UND beat out ahead of NDSU and during that time period was a better player than who ultimately started for NDSU.....I can't name one.
  8. Darrel, Indiana State might have had one of the best running backs in the FCS that year and had a pretty stout defense. Did not surprise me. Again it was a valley team. Outside of USD, every one of those valley teams would be a contender in most conferences. Hypothetically make the playoffs and maybe you will have your chance.
  9. Oh I definitely do not think they are untouchable. In fact I still think a Missouri Valley team will beat them this regular season. I just don't think UND could hang with them, as Darrel claimed. Why do UND fans keep bringing up Weber State. Did Weber State ever lead in the game? Did they win they game? Last time I checked, NDSU was never behind and won the game by 3 scores.
  10. Darell, Look at the difference in schedule between WIU and UND. Try, just try, to take the blinders off for a second. WIU has played 4 games against top 25 FCS teams. #1 NDSU, #9 Illinois State, #17 Youngstown State and #20 Southern Illinois. They have also played two games against FBS Big 10 teams in Wisconsin and Northwestern. UND has played against two ranked FCS teams in #7 Montana and #10 Montana State. They played one FBS game against Mountain West San Jose State. Their remaining games have come against unranked FCS teams. UND has beat 3 unranked FCS teams and has a record of 3-4. WIU has a record of 3-5 with one of their wins coming against #17 Youngstown State. Do you think there is a chance, just a chance, WIU has had a significantly more difficult schedule than UND, which would explain any statistics you are throwing out? WIU is a bottom feeder in Missouri Valley, similar to Missouri State, but as shown this entire year, even bottom feeder Missouri Valley teams are pretty darn good considering the only non conference FCS loss by a Missouri Valley team was South Dakota against Montana. When UND played a physical Missouri Valley team what happened? An absolute ass pounding 0-38 loss. NDSU has had a lot of tough close fought games against Missouri Valley teams through the last 3 years. In the last 3.5 years, NDSU has a record of 50-2. Those two losses were against Missouri Valley teams. All the teams in the conference are tough. Did they play well against WIU, no, but I guess at the end of the day what I am saying is WIU is a pretty decent team. Nothing that UND has done this year would tell me that UND is anywhere near capable of beating NDSU.
  11. Michigan State would beat NDSU by 2 TDS if not more but NDSU would beat at least half of the Big 10 teams. Hang with NDSU this year? No. Not a chance. NDSU' s defense is far and away the best in the FCS this year and UND's offense is less than stellar. Pretty confident that UND would not score more than once. Name a physical running attack that has tested UND this year? Maybe Missouri State and what happened? Frankly, I think NDSU Michigan State would be closer than UND NDSU this year. Sagarin spread projections would support that statement. 11 months from now, NDSU will have a very different team and that game definitely could be close.
  12. darell1976 just said on AGS that he thinks UND would beat NDSU this year. By virtue I think UND should be getting consideration for a top 5 ranking.
  13. I am just discussing playoff possibilities. I am not trying to take anything away from UND. They seem to be playing better under Bubba, but discussing playoffs they haven't, yet, accomplished anything. Like I said earlier I hope they run the table and make the playoffs. I think even at that, they have to have a lot fall their way. The Big Sky as a conference is too weak this year to have 4 teams get in. If UND,Montana, and Montana State get 8 wins, Montana and Montana State will get the nod due to head to head wins over UND and the fact that they will draw more fans to their games. Don't have a lonely life. Have the day off and waiting to get my vehicle back from the mechanic so I can get back in my bow stand.
  14. Not insecure about anything. I hope UND runs the table and gets selected for the playoffs this year. They would almost certainly be in NDSU's bracket and it would be great to see that game.
  15. True but in the case of your fan base, you don't seem to get it. 1.) 7 win at large teams generally do not make the playoffs unless you have some impressive wins. Beating 7 non ranked teams in the big sky will not get you in the playoffs as Darell thinks it will. 2.) wins against FBS teams are great for FCS teams and trying to diminish those wins, because you are 0-7 against FBS teams and are jealous, does nothing for your own program. Not trying to be a jerk. Just trying to help you guys understand what it takes to make the playoffs. Finish with a minimum of 7 wins AND actually beat a few good teams.
  16. Guess I was called that earlier in the week so figured it was acceptable here.
  17. Why did you throw Kansas on here? Because NDSU played them that year? Who cares , NDSU took care of them and won the game. I just think it is funny that Dbag1976 tries to tear down FBS wins while at the same time was pumping it up when UND went toe to toe with SDSU. 0-7 against FBS teams. When/if UND ever beats an FBS team you know dang well you and the entire UND fan base claim it to be the best UND win ever, even if it is against a team like Idaho.
  18. Why did you throw Kansas on here? Because NDSU played them that year? Who cares , NDSU took care of them and won the game. 19. Let's look at the Sagarin conference rankings as of today until we get down to the Big Sky. 1.) Missouri Valley 2.) CAA 3.) Big South 4.) Southern 5.) Southland 6.) Ohio Valley 7.) Big Sky If Montana and Montana State finish the year at 8-4 and EWU wins the conference, with maybe another loss, there is no chance UND gets in. Do you really think the 7th ranked conference in the FCS gets 4 at large bids? Not a chance.
  20. Congrats I guess. Four wins over ranked teams. I guess they point I am trying to make is don't discredit a win over an FBS team. It is always a huge accomplishment, especially when a win comes against a power conference team. Last time I checked FBS teams have something like a .850 Winning percentage all time against FCS teams. UND is 0-7 against FBS teams, correct? Until you start beating some FBS teams, you can then try to talk down about those wins. Hell, you played Idaho, freaking Idaho (probably the worst FBS program in the country) and got absolutely steamrolled. That UNI team last year had a ton of injuries but was a very good team. When healthy, it was easily one of the top 3 teams in the country. 7-5 yes, but some great wins, Iowa State #9 McNeese State and #9 Youngstown State. If they don't get in the playoffs with a win over an FBS team and two wins against top 10 FCS teams, do you really think UND has a prayer at 7-5?
  21. So how many ranked FCS teams has UND beat again?
  22. So you project UND looses to every good team on their schedule and wins 8 games against bottom feeder Big Sky teams?
  23. Until UND beats an FBS team, I suggest you try not to diminish a win of an FCS team over any FBS team. Hell, maybe start with trying to win a game against a ranked FCS team. Last time I checked, your team has 1 of those....ever.
  24. Too bad UND did not beat Montana. Playoffs would have been within reach and there is close to a 100% they would have been placed in NDSU's bracket.
