  1. Nice to see Bubbles become a great cheerleader. 34-10 NDSU.
  2. If If's and But's were candy and nuts, every day would be Christmas. Better start another a hypothetical thread so you guys can debate that one.
  3. I think UND has a talent problem. Until they are in an athletic conference with other regional universities, I think they will struggle getting talent.
  4. Man you are delusional aren't you. Even despite the fact that it is obvious the Big Sky conference affiliation puts UND at a disadvantage, and despite the fact that UND never received a Summit League invite to even make a decision between the Big Sky and Summit League, you still think UND somehow stuck it to the man and is better off because they are in the Big Sky. As long as UND is in the Big Sky, they will struggle as a program in both football and men's basketball. Period.
  5. I was informed of the meltdown here so admittedly I could not help myself to not come on here. 6 pages about NDSU pretty much sums it up. You guys care more about NDSU having success than trying to lift up your own program.
  6. Just saying what has been said by multiple recruits. Is it MSP? No, but has a heck of a lot more going on than Grand Forks does. If Grand Forks is on equal footing as Fargo, why do so many UND grads move to Fargo?
  7. Fargo versus Grand Forks is not much of a comparison in my opinion and is a huge recruiting advantage in NDSU's favor my opinion. There has been multiple past football players and basketball players from out of state who have been quoted in the past saying they were surprised at how large Fargo was and how much it had going on and helped in influencing their decision to come. I know personally that played a huge role in why I picked NDSU. Could not stomach the thought of living in Grand Forks.
  8. This is what happens when your athletic department does not focus on niche sports. I will never get sick of posts like this.
  9. The hypothetical playoffs thread was more entertaining than this one. See you guys in 2015.
  10. Which is the same way the majority of NCAA hockey players go about it as well.
  11. Just looked it up. Last year's college national championship drew in 717k viewers, which was a huge increase over the prior year and one of the largest in several years. The quarterfinal game against CC drew approximately 1.5 million fans.
  12. I could find it again. It was either posted in Bisonville or Any Given Saturday. In any case it is irrelevant. UND could have the highest rankings in the country for a college hockey game. All that would do is make your fan base and athletic department ignore UND football even more and make UND football players feel second fiddle on campus. Just curious. How many UND football games have you attended over the past 5 years? How many hockey games?
  13. I know you love to live in the past Darrell and like I said multiple times, NDSU had the number one ranked D2 team in both 2000 and 2001 until injuries took their toll. If NDSU isn't down to their 3rd string QB in 2000, you are talking about another national championship. You have to go back to the early 60's to find the last time NDSU had consistent loosing seasons like UND has had. I love how much NDSU winning gets under your skin. FYI go check out egriz. They have a nice forum going on about UN_. This is 2015. The D2 days are long over. At one point, Boise State was loosing to Montana in the Big Sky and not as good of a program. Because that happened in the past, does that mean Montana is going to rise up and be a better program again? Things change dude, and sometimes those changes are permanent or last for a very very long time.
  14. I was meaning to say college hockey. It is very similar to baseball. Most of the best players go directly into some type of minor league and the sport is largely not followed. College football and college basketball dominate this country.
  15. Your point being what? NDSU has had a ton of exposure nationally, which is why NDSU has continued to get stronger recruiting classes and are actually beating FBS schools on some recruits , whereas UND competes largely with D2 schools and have actually lost kids to lower level schools. Hate to break it to you but hockey exposure means jack !@#$ to a football recruit.
  16. I worked at the UPC, as it was known then, for 2 years . They struggle to sell out games let alone 50% of the stands most nights. You have no clue what the f*ck you are talking about.
  17. I read the regular season comment. I think it is irrelevant. Midco is a joke and I didn't even begin to name the Midco games NDSU had because it is largely irrelevant. Their production. Is worse than the new high school channel they have for ND high school games. 15 appearances over the past 5 years for NDSU football is significant. As far as your hockey comment goes, the quarterfinal game NDSU played in this year against Coastal Carolina had more people watching than any hockey national championship game in the last decade. I think it is pretty safe to say hockey is a joke.
  18. Most fans nationally don't pay a great deal of attention to FCS, but they know the story of NDSU and the success they have had. It is just like D3. I don't follow it and couldn't name a great deal of teams, other than the regional schools, but I sure as hell know who Mount Union and Wisconsin Whitewater are, due to their success, as well as most of the country.
  19. I thought it was neat to get recognition from people that I would have figured to be the type to not know who NDSU is let alone that North Dakota even exists. Carrier Dome is an absolute shithole. They do serve beer during games though.
  20. I was at the Carrier Dome last year to watch a Syracuse basketball game and I wore an NDSU T shirt. I had a few people say go Bison to me as I passed in the hall. The guy I sat next to saw my shirt and started up a conversation about ESPN Gameday and what an awesome representation it was by the NDSU fan base. He was from NYC.
  21. Here is what I would consider national games for NDSU. 1.) 2010 Quarterfinals- ESPN2 2.) 2011 Semifinals- ESPNU 3.) 2011 National Championship- ESPN2 4.) 2012 Semifinals- ESPN2 5.) 2012 National Championship- ESPN2 6.) 2013 Season opener against Kansas State- Fox Sports 1 7.) 2013 ESPN Gameday Appearance (not a game but more watched that than any other national televised game except KSU) 8.) 2013 Quarterfinal- ESPN 9.) 2013 Semifinal- ESPN2 10.) 2013 National Championship- ESPN2 11.) 2014 Season opener against Iowa State- Fox Sports 1 12.) 2014 ESPN Gameday Appearance 13.) 2014 Quarterfinals- ESPN 14.) 2014 Semifinals- ESPN2 15.) 2014 National Championship Game- ESPN2 I am willing to bet the vast majority of the FBS teams, including many power 5 teams, have not had as many nationally televised games/gameday appearances in the past 5 years as NDSU has. Don't fool yourself. People now know NDSU very well. Every time I travel I wear an NDSU sweatshirt or T shirt and I always get someone in the airport that says something to me. If you want to throw basketball into the mix, the 3 NCAA tournament games NDSU has played in during the past few years made people very well aware of NDSU as well. There has been multiple ESPN games played in the past few years as well. I am pretty sure the game last year against Notre Dame was on ESPNU. The Summit League championship game last year was on ESPN2 and the Summit League championship game in 2009 and 2012 was also on ESPN2. I also think in 2012, NDSU played against Akron in a regular season game that was on ESPN2. I can't remember further back than that, but I am almost positive a few of the games played in the 2007-2009 era, Wisconsin rings a bell, were also on ESPN.
  22. Serious question. If you guys really believe FCS football is JV and doesn't mean anything, why would you care to spend even a minute discussing it? Seems to me, most on here actually do care about FCS football and are suffering from some serious Bison envy.
  23. I am not a huge hockey fan, but when I do watch hockey, I cheer for UND. When UND women's basketball made the NCAA tourney, I went down to the bar with two UND grads to watch the game and cheer for UND basketball. I don't hate UND as much as people like to claim I do. As a matter of fact, I almost went to UND but decided against it in order to stay closer to home. I hate UND fans who despise NDSU because they are good at football and try to belittle what NDSU has accomplished while not supporting their own university.
