That Kansas team went out made beat a ranked FBS team, Georgia Tech, the very next week. They were a bad team , but they were still nowhere near how bad Wyoming is this year. I don't remember any NDSU fans acting like that was the biggest game ever. I think that was NDSU's fourth FBS win by that point. Look an FBS win is an FBS win, but you guys acted like winning that game automatically meant the NDSU game would be tight. I think UND played decent against Wyoming, but they were going to get steamrolled by NDSU no matter what team showed up. The talent gap was evident.

I chuckled pretty hard when I had read your "play like you did against Wyoming and UND wins, play like you did against Drake and UND gets blown out". This game had nothing to do with UND "playing bad". They were completely overwhelmed physically and were beat to !@#$ by a team who is better conditioned, coached and are more talented. Period. I still don't think you understand how bad Wyoming is. They might go down to be the worst FBS team ever. I am pretty confident they would not win a game in the MVFC this year. They might win 2 games in the Big Sky. UND has dug a huge hole for themselves. Bubba seems like an extremely nice guy, but frankly he comes off more like a guy who sits around the cafe in the morning drinking coffee with his buddies . His main recruiting area does not fit geographically with the Big Sky. It is a gigantic disadvantage . He also has to compete with SDSU and UNI for recruits. He has a gigantic task at hand trying to turn UND around. Honestly , their only hope is to get into the MVFC. I fully expect that with the nickname issue behind them , you will see UND making a push to get into the Summit and MVFC. It just makes more sense. If the don't , they might as well drop football because playing in the Big Sky is never going to work for them .

I was at the IW game. This game was fare worse. The Bison defense last year, before the Beck injury , was special. Not on the level of the 2013 Bison, but still phenomenal . This year's NDSU defense is somewhere between the 2010 and 2011 defenses. Definitely not special . UND made them look like the 1985 Bears yesterday. This game easily could have been 52-0 type of game. On the flip side, I really am sick of hearing about that vaunted UND defense . They were completely torn to shreds. Sure, UND only gave up 125 rushing yards, or whatever it ended up being, but they had 9 guys in the box, shooting the gaps the entire freaking game. I honestly have never seen anything like that. Playing like that is going to stop the run, but they are going to get absolutely touched against any team with an average QB.

Only two years ago UND beat NDSU in a basketball game. NDSU went on to have the greatest basketball season either university has ever seen, beating Notre Dame in South Bend, winning the Summit League and beating Oklahoma in the NCAA tournament. All I heard back then, and continue to hear from UND fans, is, "yeah, but we beat NDSU". Maybe you guys only dwell on one game when it is UND comes out on the winning side?

The UND scoring drive? You mean the one where UND had to go about 2 feet to punch it in? Lol. There were no "scoring drives" by UND in the game played today. Look, UND is making some strides . With that being said, the neutral sight comment is just plain hilarious. I have watched a lot of football . I saw one team today from North Dakota that was frankly superior in talent than the other. If this game was played 100 times between these two teams, UND might win 1, and that is being fine. The dome had been much much crazier than today. Talent is what caused this beat down today . Not crowd noise.

You don't see a problem with specifically targeting the injured part on a player? If you are teaching sound defense, would you ever advocate for a player to ankle tackle? Never seen Bison fans advocate that we specifically hit a player in a part of the body that they have an injury. I never once once said I didn't agree with targeting Wentz as a QB by blitzing him. Target the !@#$ out of him. If however you go into the game and specifically try to hit his ankle to knock him out of the game, you have crossed the line. You should never ever ever target a play with the intent to injure them. Period.
-
Your example was Tony Romo and tackling the shoulders , which is poor technique, instead of wrapping up at the waist, despite having the ability to tackle the waist, which is how it should be done. You advocated the coaches teaching the death ankle roll after a tackle and then made the Tony Romo example. Now you are backtracking by this simple rushing the QB comment. Hilarious. I hope to God you never coach kids in football.
-
I don't care how much I hate UND. I would never advocate for NDSU players to specifically target the injured part of a player's body. Ever. Not saying that they should avoid it, but specifically target it ? Wow. Go back and read Sic's follow up post. He stated that he had no problem with a team targeting the injury on a player. Like it or not, these message boards are what a lot of people use to base their opinion of a fan base on. The moderator on your board is openly advocating that UND target the injured part of Wentz's body. That is pure trash.
-
It isn't satire if you follow up your post with another post defending your comment and saying how it is "normal". That isn't satire. I get that this is just a message board, but that is a moderator on your board advocating that UND target Wentz's ankle, specifically. He didn't just say "I hope we pressure him because he is injured". Would be fine with him saying that. He made the death gator ankle roll comment and then followed up with how that is fine to do providing examples of other dirty teams doing it. Pure trash. Go back and read his follow up post and see if you find satire in it.
-
I never said I would have a problem with coaches rushing a QB when he is hobbled. I have a gigantic problem with targeting the injury itself. It isnt satire if you follow up your comments with a post stating how targeting an injury is common practice and acceptable . Pure trash.
-
Sicatoka, Your comments are absolutely pathetic and cross the line big time. I have no problem with someone advocating to rush the QB because they are injured but to target the injury specifically ? Put < profanity removed > trash. I was speaking with a former Bison player last night while I read about his comment. His first were that in the 5 years he played under Bohl and Babich he never was told to target a player's injury. These comments are the main reason why I never wanted NDSU to schedule UND. Pure classless losers.

UND needs to quit screwing around in the Big Sky and push the Missouri Valley/Summit League hard for entry.
-
Good question. They should. They are undervalued right now and should be raised. After UND elected to end the rivalry with NDSU in 2003, the popularity and success of NDSU has grown exponentially. Why exactly does NDSU need UND?
-
I paid $200 for two tickets to watch the Incarnate Word game. NDSU tickets have been too cheap for too long. They could easily sell for UND prices. There is currently somewhere around an 8,000 season ticket back order. Those on that list regularly have to pay scalpers for tickets and usually it is more than $60. I know it is hard to grasp given you would have a tough time paying someone to watch a UND game these days.

I know the difference between alumnus and alumni. It was a fantasy football team name that I had with two buddies and I have the same email account for it, so I just used it . There are a lot of people here who have Sioux in their name. Are they trying to represent the thoughts and opinions of all Sioux natives?
-
Ah......no. Considering NDSU has won 4 consecutive conference championships and needed to beat top 10 ranked FCS teams to do so, there have been multiple games bigger than this. Every FBS game we have played has been bigger than this. This is just an old cute rivalry game...nothing more. Iowa plays Iowa State usually every year. That does not mean it is the biggest game of the year, especially during the years Iowa was contending for a conference championship. This comment just proves every NDSU fan's point. Playing NDSU is your super bowl. You guys play conference games against two very good FCS programs with fan bases like NDSU, Montana and Montana State. If you were serious about your football team, those games should mean more to you. If UND joins the Missouri Valley and joins NDSU as a perennial title contender, that game will again become the biggest regular season game each year. Until then, playing UND will be nothing more than a cheap non conference team to fill the schedule.
-
False .
-
Unless UND joins the Missouri Valley or plays in the playoffs at the Alerus against NDSU, It will be in the 2020's before you will have any chance of seeing NDSU go up to the armpit again. The scheduling philosophy will continue to be 6 home games, 2 bye weeks and a game against either a FCS powerhouse or an FBS team. Yes I know NDSU went to Weber State last year, but that was from a back end contract written in 2005. There is no point in going to Grand Forks when NDSU can pay UND a dollar amount less than our D2 opponents to play in Fargo exclusively.
-
They will not be playing for the Fighting Sioux. There is not an NCAA football team currently known as the Fighting Sioux. Pretty sure their jersey will say Sundogs, Roughriders, or Fighting Hawks.
-
No kidding you are glad. If they were played on paper, UND would be looking at a 9th place Big Sky finish and a 20 point blowout loss to NDSU.
-
Quick feet, athletic and strength is what you need in an offensive line. You might average 300 pounds on the line, but that doesn't mean they are necessary strong, quick or have good footwork. If your offensive line lacks in those areas, size advantage becomes your disadvantage when you face a defensive line that is faster and more athletic.
-
This just makes me laugh. Have you watched NDSU these last few years? Their entire defense has been built off speed and athleticism. A lot of NDSU's defensive players don't fit your typical size. Regarding offensive lines, just because you are big doesn't mean much. A lot of big offensive lineman at the FCS level have slow feet and are completely blown up by smaller more athletic defensive lineman. Sam Houston had a massive offensive line last year and were completely blown up.
-
When UND fan starts calling the grandparents of a Bison fan, who they have never met, racist against blacks, you know you have won, and they certainly have nothing to add to the discussion on the game to be played against UND and NDSU in 2015. This is just sad. You guys have nothing left in the tank.

9 total- 6 were also honorable mention. Including honorable mention, most of any MVC team. 43 players are on that list between first team and honorable mention so to have 21% of that list consisting of NDSU players is pretty remarkable.
