Maybe go to an up tempo semi-quick passing in the second half to open it up a bit, and sprinkle in some running?
-
Well, it's going to take everything we've got to come back in the second half and pull out a win here. I'm sure glad we got that win last week against UNC.
-
Play action and go deep on first down just like we opened up the game with. What do we have to lose!!
-
Freshman making first start on the OL. They are just banged up right now and it shows. We go as the OL goes.....and right now they are not going. We could have really used a bye.
-
Offense is really out of sync. Already down by 11...and I'm sure NAU will score some more. We may need two pick 6's and a punt return for a TD to somehow pull this out.

Think I've seen three new plays that we haven't run all year so far in the first half. It's too bad we are struggling on offense so much we are having to use those up now. Would have liked to have saved those to catch a team off guard in the playoffs. Offense is just flat out struggling right now.
-
Yeah that was a sweet fake!!
-
Only 3 guys rushing and there is not help over the top? Hell they might as well run that play all day long, eventually you are going to hit it when you have 5 seconds to throw.
-
Man.....a lot of "could of's" so far.......Mercer doesn't stumble it's a TD, Reyes makes tackle on the screen, the trick pass is a little longer and it goes for a TD instead of getting broken up.
-
Yes...he readjusted it....no over turn though.
-
Gotta chill just a little bit, it was on drive and one play that they busted big. I wouldn't say we aren't going to go anywhere in the playoffs because we don't have a defense. We have the best defense in the Big SKy
-
Ugh wow that sucks!! Damn is Holm fast though.
-
BOOM that was nice, now let's not them get any points on this drive to get the momentum back!!
-
Tough sledding on the ground for us today with our OL banged up. We are going to need to turnover battle today and hit some timely passes in order to pull this one out. Defense needs to make some adjustments.
-
We need TD's not field goals, 1st and goal from the 1 and not getting in.....&*#(&#$(&)@A
-
Too bad Mercer couldn't have kept his feet......ugh. Still a pretty good start but sure would have been nice to get 7 there. Should have done play action on 2nd and goal and not wait to 3rd down.

Looks like a St. Mary's blowout against Kindred. Would that O Line look as good against Bismarck or Century though?
-
The ticket map certainly doesn't look as good as any of us would like it to be, but at this point it is what it is........a lot of noise can still be made with 9k!
-
What about Cloyd, has he been playing some and just not getting any balls thrown to him (like our other TE's haven't)? At this point has it been a waste of pulling a redshirt?

I agree with you on the worrying about having that much time off and being rusty. A few weeks ago I was thinking perfect scenario would be to play a first round game at home against Western Illinois. We'd get one week off due to our regular bye week, and then a home game that would be winnable (not that we couldn't lose) and get that first coveted playoff win to check off that box. However if we end up 9th and end up having to go to SDSU or Montana in the first round that would totally blow. So at this point I'm all for getting a bye and guaranteed home game. The rust would be a bit of a concern for me but we'd have to deal with it. I had the same thoughts of you and that we might come out and look like we did at Stony Brook after being off that long, and Studs would be off target etc.. However I think at the beginning of the year Studs just may not have had deep down trust in the OL and even when he wasn't hurried may have hurried some easy throws. We've seen though that our team seems to go based upon how the OL plays. Given that extra time to rest and get the OL to 100% full strength would be nice, Stanley would hopefully be back then as well and as a team we'd likely be almost 100% healthy other than Clive. Rudy would have some time to maybe put in a new or special play as a wrinkle in the offense.
-
That will be awesome if Studs is able to play this week, even if he is only 85-90%. Just need a pretty clean efficient game from the QB without turning the ball over. I'm really starting to get excited for this game, especially hearing that there is a decent shot we get a seed for the playoffs if we win!
-
Yep that was a good one!!!

I liked the bracket a few weeks ago that had us playing Western Illinois at home in the first round. One bye week at the end of the regular season for some rest and a winnable home game to get that first playoff win. However if we end up 9th or 10th and have to go to SDSU or Montana that totally blows. Given that I'm hoping we can get a seed, get a nice rest and deal with potential rust and get a home game.
-
Who would have thought at the end of the 3rd quarter against South Dakota, that we would be 8-2.
-
If Studs is 100% I expect to win next week. If Bartels plays it's likely going to be a very close game. I'll still be expecting to win it, but it's not going to be easy. Actually even if Studs plays it's probably going to be a pretty close game. NAU is playing some really good football right now.
