  1. BOOM!! Just got my ticket and am going to the game!! Flying from Philadelphia on the 30th to Salt Lake City instead of back to AZ. I'll have to try and find some of you to party with as I'll be by myself lol. Not sure if I'm going to rent a car yet or just Uber it around. Tickets are in Section W8.
  2. Utah is neither Wyoming or Bowling Green, much better program that is for sure. When we were DII, when we would play Crookston or Moorhead to start the year I'm pretty sure none of us were too concerned we weren't going to win those games. If I was them I would be expecting a win also, so I don't get too bent up about it. Although I haven't read the comments and if they think they are going to blow us out by 40 without breaking a sweat that is another thing. Either way, I'd rather them and their team completely over look us.
  3. Thanks for the info RavenousUte! I am familiar with some of those bars if I need to go there to watch I'll have to double check if I get the Pac 12 Network, switched to Direct TV recently.
  4. Thanks!
  5. Thanks. Just learned of a work trip and would be flying back the night of the game, thought about going a day earlier and then possibly doing direct flight to Salt Lake City Wednesday night to catch the game. It's probably already been posted, but will the game be available to watch online?? I still might do the work trip a day early (even if I don't go to the game) so I get home Wednesday night and can watch the game Thursday night online, opposed to flying Thursday night and missing the game.
  6. Anybody know if there are tickets we can get through UND to this game in the UND section yet?
  7. That would be great, especially if he has more than one year left to play.

    2017 Season

Only 6 INT's in two years is a great stat.
  9. I think that picture is trying to portray that they are going to practices and keeping tabs on the football team during the week while no one else is around. That is my take anyway, I guess I don't have a problem with it.
  10. #12 as in he committed to us I assume right?
  11. Awesome write up Teeder, thanks! What are your overall thoughts on the OL? To me that is still a big question mark. Sounds like they started out slow, but did ok later? And that was against the 2's right as the first team DL was out (granted our 2's play a lot on the DL). Going up against Utah's stout DL may make for some really tough sledding in that first game.
  12. Let's not for get Connor O'Brien lost this off season too, he was the leading tackler last year right? So in the off season we lost 1. Harris (pro prospect) 2. O'Brien (leading tackler if I recall) 3. Grady (potential pro prospect) granted he wasn't with us last year so hard to fully call that a loss. Regardless, come November/ December you can't tell me we wouldn't be a more solid team with those guys, 3 starters. This all before the season even starts, there will surely be other injuries coming. That said, thankfully we have built more depth and can absorb these injuries better than we could have 2-3 years ago but they still hurt. Injuries are part of the game though and everybody has them. I saw one NDSU fan on the FB FCS Fans nation page all but throw in the towel when Menard got hurt and out for the year, and they are probably one of the deeper teams in the FCS. Obviously that guy blew things way out of proportion, NDSU is still a favorite to win it all. I am still super excited about this year though, and the good thing about these is that they DID occur very early so the team can better prepare and move past it, other guys are getting more reps. I am already passed the Harris, Grady, and O'Brien not playing this year....but you can't deny the difference they would have made, especially if more serious injuries creep up.
  13. I 110% agree with this!
  14. Wasn't sure if I should put this here or the Adidas thread: http://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2017-08-09/fcs-football-10-best-uniforms-according-fans

    2017 Season

Oh ya that's right, Studs was out that game too. I recall now that many of us were thinking they might put Joe in for the second half. And yeah that end of the first half was the killer. Really hoping we can wipe that bad taste from our mouth this year when we go back!

    2017 Season

The Griz game kind or worries me more than the EWU game since Montana is tough at home. Plus I still have flashbacks of last time we were there and both of our safeties were out, and our CB were young and inexperienced and they were just throwing the ball up at will. However we'll see what both EWU and Montana look like a few games into the season. Hope EWU knocks off NDSU. If I recall that last game on Montana, Santiago took it to the house on the first play. Later in the game he was going full speed down the sidelines and a guy grabbed his face mask and completely spun him around by his face mask and there was no call. Not that it would have mattered, but that may have been the worst missed face mask call I've seen......ever.

UNI is the exception to this rule. They could start out at #18, lose their first two FCS games and move up to #17 based upon quality losses.

    2017 Season

They don't, but yet they do. If you start out at #8 and lose your first FCS game of the season, you probably drop somewhere between 15-20 depending on who the loss is to. If you are unranked and you lose your first FCS game you would have to rattle off 3-4 wins in a row to crack the top 25 and then it is an uphill battle from there to improve your position.

Unless you are Nate Little from Montana. That sucks though, tough loss for NDSU. Hopefully he'll be able to make a full recovery....sounds like he may have a shot at the NFL.
  20. Awesome write up again Teeder, thank! I always look forward to your write ups more than the official ones that go out. It's really nice to know that we have are sitting so much better in the QB position going forward, that was great to hear about Boltmann. I think if Studs can get to 62-63% we'll be just fine.....would certainly take 65% though!
  21. I was going to mention that too, he wasn't necessarily a gun slinger. But honestly I didn't watch him play all that much so I didn't really want to post it and have a bunch of Bison fans jump all over me. He certainly was a winner though, and always made the clutch play at the right time. If you watch the greatest drive in NDSU history as they say, against K-State, I don't think he threw the ball more than 10 yards down field the whole drive. It was mostly dink and dunks, making smart decisions, hand the ball off, and scramble and run when need to. Studs can do that, not saying Studs is Brock, but he can do those things.
  22. 100% agree with this. The only way it could happen IMO if Studs was only playing average or below and then got injured and had to sit for two games, and the backup came in and completely lit things up for two straight games. Then coaches would have a decision. Nobody will overtake him just based upon what they do in practice. And hopefully none of the other guys get to see the field (meaning no injuries for Studs) except for mop up duty. As of right now, there isn't even a sniff of QB controversy.
  23. He definitely locks in on guys. I think the only way somebody knocks him off as starter is if they are REMARKABLY better, which I don't think is going to happen given Studs grasp of the offense and how few INT's he throws. While I do hope the backups push him to be better, I hope Studs does well enough so we don't have a QB controversy like we did a few years ago. Next year though, very well may have a QB controversy at least at the beginning of the year.
  24. I was on a football high a few weeks ago when the Big Sky Kickoff was going on, lots of good news on UND football up to that point. Then literally a couple days later Harris goes down for the year, then we started hearing grumblings about Grady and then finally heard he isn't back. Those two pieces of news had me a bit down for a while, but reading Teeder's write up has gotten me all excited again! I agree that was interesting to see the offense have so much success, granted to pads today so maybe that had something to do with it. But either way if our OL comes together we could really have something on offense this year with the weapons and experience we have. Also liked seeing the new JUCO CB make a play as well, he could end up being a very important pick up for us with Harris out.
  25. Says the guy who sits online everyday trolling the oppositions board waiting for a chance to poke in a negative comment as soon as he sees an opening.
