If we end up winning the Big SKy and USD ends up being 7th in their conference, MVFC should get 7 teams and Big Sky 1.....only due to be champions. This is a joke.
-
We need points on this drive....preferably 7.
-
South Dakota in our backfield again, reminds me of last year.
-
I'm not feeling a comeback this time.
-
This is embarrassing. Completely embarrassing.
-
Yes he did, but didn't get the ball...he was in on that 3rd and long that we didn't convert.
-
No doubt....they get 8 yards on it before even getting touched, that is just easy. Their offense seems so much more diverse, but it could be that our defense looks like complete crap when they can just throw passes out to the flat and get 8-10 yards every time.

It's working for me just fine.
-
Think that is twice now this year Fiedler has been off sides on 3rd and short.
-
Not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous about this one......hope we come out strong out of the gate. Let's Go Hawks!!

Scratch this comment, I was able to get the UND sports to work, wanted to listen to some pregame before turning on ESPN3.
-
Anybody have a link to the pregame audio? I try to "Listen Live' on the UNDsports site, I log in but it continually tells me I need to log in even when I am, not the first time I've had that problem.

Would have been a fun bus to be on!!

I totally agree that this game is very big for both programs, but I'd have to say it is bigger for USD. If we lose, if we go through the Big Sky with say one loss, we will still get a pretty good seed in the playoffs. Not sure if it would be a top 8 or not but we'd easily be in. If USD loses this they will for sure lose at least one more game given their schedule, if not 2 more games. Plus they just cracked into the polls, if they lose now they are likely back out of the polls and need to crawl back in while playing in a very tough conference and face a stiff uphill battle to get a decent ranking. However on the flip side they will be playing a lot of ranked teams so if they are able to win some of those they will climb back in. That said I still think this game is bigger for them. Given that, plus them being at home, the revenge factor, and that we have always seemed to come out on the positive side of our recent games with them.........is it finally our turn to drop one? It could happen....but I sure hope not. Hope our guys are jacked tomorrow and come out and play hard, which I think they will. I think they do realize this is a big game as well.

Yep it will, and I'm predicting play action pass the first offensive play for us tomorrow Although I would somewhat settle for at least having Brady in on the first series if we are going to run it on 1st and 2nd down and at least getting some positive yardage those first two plays.

Hopefully he tries to do too much, to make up for last year, and therefore makes some more mistakes. I hope Keaton is dialed in again tomorrow, we're going to need to pass the ball on these guys.

Anybody have the link to UND Sports extra for the shows this year, are there any?
-
Yeah no doubt, I searched for UND Sports Extra and I wasn't seeing it. Am I just missing it, has there been one this year?
-
Does UND script their first 15-20 plays? Or is it just a given that all teams do that now days?
-
I think anytime you are up by a decent amount in the second half and lose you are going to feel like you blew it so I can see why the feel that way. I'd say it's a bit of both, we certainly made some plays...but I'm sure they look at a few things they could have done differently. Just like our game against Richmond, we feel we pissed that game down our leg.....but Richmond felt they won it. Although I think that game was more of a pissing it down our leg with running into the kicker, getting a punt blocked etc.. But I'm sure if you ask Richmond they feel like it was them making plays. If South Dakota thinks they are the superior team and just lost the game last year, let them think that and be over confident. In the end what happened last year doesn't matter at this point........let's just get the W this weekend!

Here is a link to the recap below. Sounds like they limited BYU on offense......"On the defensive side of the ball, Utah held BYU to just 63 yards rushing and 233 total offensive yards." http://www.utahutes.com/news/2017/9/10/football-utah-beats-byu-19-13.aspx

I think we are both on the same page here and saying the same thing, if a guy muffs a punt, misses a kick, or a ball gets kicked out of bounds I don't think you can necessarily blame it on the coach which is what I was saying. However if muffing punts and kicking out of bounds becomes repetitive, then that is a problem and you can start looking at the coach.
-
Taubs didn't have his best year last year, but we've been fortunate to have some really really good kickers and have been pretty spoiled. I've seen plenty SEC kickers shank 37 yard field goals. Taubs looks stronger and better this year, I'm looking for a good year from him. Even in a good year you are going to miss some. Thank god he made all of them against Utah to keep things reasonable. There are many college teams that would love to have him as their kicker.
-
I was pretty hard on Kostich last year as I think getting two punts blocked at crucial times, and not having his guys lay off the rush when we got the penalty were more coaching type mistakes or not having the guys ready. But if a guy muffs a punt or something like that, I can't blame that on the coach. Just like if a QB sails a ball over the WR and gets picked, hard to blame that on the coach. I'm just glad we have Santiago back there returning punts instead of Seibel, I actually look forward to receiving punts again.....that something good may actually happen instead of crossing my fingers praying we successfully catch the ball and don't fumble.

Maybe that is why he wanted to play RB instead of LB, maybe just doesn't have that natural aggressiveness you need on defense.
