I know it will be streamed Live tonight, I assume it will be posted so we can watch it later as well?

Only 1 middle LB has actual game experience at that position. You've got to think there will be a few misread plays/coverages from time to time as these guys learn. http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=211555199&DB_OEM_ID=13500

I think having all the starters back (other than Clive who was out right away anyway) and the two deep guys back will hopefully help with some of that consistency this year. Studs definitely needs to come out of the gate this year playing better than last year that is for sure. With a majority of the offense returning this year, there is no excuse for a slow start.

I agree, I think it's going to come down a lot more to the OL. Studs has already made some clutch throws and is capable of doing so, he brought us back against NAU by chucking the pigskin. He does need to improve with consistency though, and I won't disagree there will be games where he is going to have to make some clutch throws. I really hope he can improve on that swing pass out of the backfield, seems like he isn't very accurate with that.

Has anybody heard anything on how the OL is looking?

Spring practice without Teeder's reports.....is not the same. Doesn't even seem like spring practice is happening right now.....has been so little chat about it.

So is it coach Rudy, or is it Bubba = Mr. Hand?

Those are some good non conference games scheduled so far. Obiously we'll all look forward to the FBS games, but playing Sam Houston back to back years will be interesting as well. The only year we don't have an FBS game we play you know who, so an exciting non conference game that year too. Looks good!

If we didn't come back and beat Weber and make it to the dance, would this thread still be called Fire Jones? Wouldn't surprise me if it was, and many would say he stinks and we need to get rid of him. But a great comeback by the team in the conference championship game and within minutes he is one of the best FCS coaches and we need to keep him. Gotta love fan bases sometimes. I wonder if a Fire Berry thread will be started if he doesn't get us another Natty this year.

Dickinson had a 7 footer this year, err well close to it not sure if Meidinger is a true 7 feet or not. The other school got him though..... -

After getting down big for a while in first half....looked like it might be a blowout. Great comeback in the second half to make it interesting for a while in the second half and fun to watch! If that charge was called instead of a block......might have kept it close a lot longer. Great effort team! -

16 straight free throws......damn that has to be closing in on some kind of NCAA tourney record I would think. -

If the free throw percentages were reversed.....we'd be within 10 points. -

I know they've missed a couple.....but feels like they haven't missed any all night. -

That blocking foul that was a charge.....what a turning point.......Ugh. -
Also playing with two true freshman at WR last year due to the top two WR's out for most of the season, granted Wanzek actually turned out to make him look good sometimes too with great catches. On top of that an OL that was shaky to start the year. Also in my opinion it's not that fair to even count the stats from his first year when looking for averages, he was a true freshman coming off the scout team at the end of the year. The NAU game he brought us back with his arm and gutted it out playing hurt. He's still not the best on those swing throws out of the back field and generally locks on his primary receiver right away. Like everyone else I think the main thing is he just needs to improve his consistency and I sure hope he improves that completion percentage this year. Only throwing 2-3 INT's the last two years is also a huge check on the plus side with him, on top of his running and scrambling ability.
-
He sure looks good......and FAST!
-
Cool it does look good. I think white pants, grey top, white helmet would look good. Heck I'd settle for a 6th grade photo shop of that combo if you're up for it!
-
If I could pick from all of those things......I'd pick white helmet.
-
Opposite for me, I'm dreading the switch as far as coverage when we move to the MVFC. I have CenturyLink and they currently have zero packages available that have ESPN3, I won't be able to watch squat unless I change providers. I'm going to miss having the watchbigsky.com option. I'll have to figure something out when the time comes.
-
It will be nice not to have to cringe and gasp every time Studs gets hit this year......assuming that Zimmerman can be a legit #2. Also being able to call 7-8 running plays a game will help keep teams honest and help the running game overall.
-
That play is a guaranteed 25 yard pick up at least once a game.....it's like clock work.
-
I was thinking the same thing, but was just telling myself......no news in the off season.....is probably good news!
