I was going to put a disclaimer saying I haven't gone back and looked at who all of our RB's were over the past 10 years, figured I'd probably be forgetting somebody. Just seems like it has been a while since we've had some really good RB's....and now we've got 4, which is nice. Hopefully the kid from Moorhead will be a stud.
-
Very true, RB should be at the top of the list for next year too.
-
Well, we do have 4 very capable starters on the team right now, so I think they've done a good job at getting quality RB's. Any of the 4 we have now are probably better than any other UND RB in the past 10 years. I agree it would be good to try and get a scholly QB every year, however getting somebody just to get somebody isn't that good of an idea either IMO if they won't have a legitimate chance of contributing at that position . Next year though, QB has to be a top priority.

I think I saw an article a little while back that I think was posted on the FCS Fans Facebook page.......or some listing of ranking the 2018 class.....and UND was 18th or something. Did anybody else see that or know where that list is?
-
I think the early signing day can be a good thing for UND. However it makes for a less fun and exciting January that is for sure. A lot less stress for the coaches though, not having to worry about a commit flipping in January. Looks like some good recruits in the 8 that are supposed to sign. Hopefully that tall athletic TE will end up getting put to good use!

Who are we projecting as the two starting safeties this year?
-
It's a late September game this year....best time of the year for some outdoor football. Looks like you guys had a good time!
-
Good point. It will be interesting to see if the offense takes a step forward next year with hopefully a more natural passer who doesn't lock in on his first target right away.
-
If you guys go again....I will likely go for sure......was a good time in Utah! I'm going to go to the NAU game in Flagstaff. Maybe I should go to game at UNC instead of Washington game.....certainly a more winnable game at UNC. Both would be fun though.
-
Anybody planning on going to the game in Washington? I'm considering it.
-
Now that right there.....is a good question!
-
Yep, we have to shift three different times before snapping the ball and running Santiago up the gut.
-
Yep. I'd say there is almost no way he gets drafted, hasn't been able to make it through a full college season without getting injured, I don't see how he'd make it through an NFL season. Then getting injured for this game......probably the nail in the coffin on getting drafted. Hopefully he will still get an invite from a team after the draft, would be nice to see him make a team. Would at least like to see him get a legit chance. Some guys just seem to have that injury bug, and unfortunately for Cole he is one of them. He has been fun to watch the last couple of years. Wishing him the best of luck!

Reading that article......I dunno...my gut says we are in for another year of having an average OL. Disappointing.
-
Opposing defenses also need to fear the deep ball more too. Z really dropped in a few long ball dimes, if whomever is the starter next year can do that a few times and make teams a little more worried about getting beat deep that will help a lot too. The young burners and whomever starts at QB need to start making some big plays next year.
-
We need a play off run....lots of them, to me that is more important. EWU I don't think has great facilities.....look at some of the recruits they get. Kids go there because they know they are usually really good....particularly if you are a QB or a WR. Phase 2 will certainly help, but that isn't happening next year. We need to win...... next year......to turn the perception of our program around. That is the quickest way to turn things around. Our coaches need to out coach the other coaches, and the players need to out play sometimes superior players. Not sure Rudy is able to out coach anybody, but if we get an OL maybe he can do something.
-
And three years is a long time before we are in the MVFC. Your damn straight I expect us to go 6-2 or better in the conference. If our goal for the year is to go 5-3 in conference....F that. If we have a legit OL by then we will be able to compete just fine in the MVFC. We also just saw what a top MVFC team did against JMU.....compared to what Weber St. did against them.
-
Can somebody post what UND360 Tweeted.....I don't have Twitter nor do I want to. Losing Okpoko really sucks, I think if we landed him that may have made people feel better overall about the class. As for the less hype this year I think it is because of the early signing period and time of the year. I was so busy today I kind of forgot what day it was and didn't even check in until now. I haven't seen the film on Maag so not sure if he is a stud or not. Would be nice to get a stud at WR....as in the type of guy that Montana or EWU would have recruited. However NDSU has shown you can still be successful without elite WR's. Hoping Rain and these new hogs will help us plow the way when we get into the MVFC.
-
But when we don't get a JUCO LB transfer in the off season last year.......people claim it's on Bubba for not getting a transfer to fill an immediate need. Which comes first....the chicken or the egg.
-
That JMU - SDSU score was pretty shocking. SDSU looked good early, I wasn't convinced they could beat NDSU when it counted, turns out couldn' even come close to JMU. Funny how Sam Houston gets portrayed as soft, but SDSU just got their a$$ kicked but yet you don' see the same comments just because they are from the MVFC. NDSU has carried that conference and any team that plays them tough gets propped up, or if a team beats NDSU once in 5 tries they get put on pedalstil like SDSU. After SDSU loses their two offensive studs they will fall back into FCS slighty above medioracrity.

Who the heck on here thinks we are ok with the level of talent on this years team? You are delusional thinking that we don't think we need better players. We had no senior ILB's that were able to play, or probably even juniors. The upper classes OL mostly got hurt and were average at best anyway. The juniors and seniors on the roster to me are gap guys, caught in middle of transition. There were obviously some really good ones, but not the overall quality needed. It looks like we will have some good ILB's going forward, some of the younger or newly recruited OL guys appear to have some good potential.
-
I was thinking last night.....UND's OL coach should be taking notes while watching NDSU's line. If the young guys that had to end up playing this year don' take a nice step forward, the OL coach has to go.
-
I dont like the negativity either but in this case ir was justified. Sam Houston would have demolished this year's UND team and easily scored 50 on us with our depleted secondary and no true ILB'S. They scored 40 on SDSU in the first half, probably would have on us too this year. Looking forward to next year' game, hopefully Harris will be healthy and ready to go.
