Interesting to go back over the years and look at a number of these early signings and the players either only played a couple of games in the NHL or didn't make it to the big dance at all. Gersich played 3 games in the NHL right out of the shoot and never played again at that level. Every situation is different.

If Jackson or anyone on the coaching staff is to be considered there needs to confidential meetings with the players to get a pulse on what they have been seeing. If you hire Jackson and 5-6 players still go the portal route that pretty much tells you that they don't think he is the answer.

Denver has never traveled well even to nationals. Until Az gets some history, might too soon to tell. Michigan travels better but nowhere close to ND.

Why are you thinking that? Normally players leave ND because they aren't fitting in or they are dissatisfied with the amount of ice time they are getting. The latter certainly should not be the case this year with all of the injuries.

The coaches see these guys in practice too. There are a number of factors, including attitude. Some players take coaching to heart, others think they know better than their coaches. It is like that in everyday life. We don't know, for the most part, what went on behind the scenes.

Not even in the same ballpark comparing Rube to Brad. Rube's teams were horrible at the end often getting blown out. We were pretty much the doormat of the WCHA.

Didn't help when Brock Nelson got knocked out of the game early. Also screwed up our lines in addition to losing a player of his caliber.

I would think Blake would want to wait and see how the Hobie voting goes. If he does not win it, he would have to be one of the favorites for next season. That is an honor and recognition that can not be taken away and his legacy through future history. I am sure Carolina is putting a full court press on so they at least get something for that draft pick.

Costantini is a head scratcher. Maybe he is banged up and no one is saying anything, but to sit out both games this weekend if he is healthy is bothersome. With the underperformance of a number of players on this team, you have to start wondering if Berry has lost control of the lockerroom.

If St. Cloud loses, they will remain in 4th place and that will mean that Duluth will have won, insuring that Duluth stay in 5th place and thus the matchup between them again next week. If St. Cloud wins and Omaha loses then things get cloudier as potentially there could be a three way tie for second and not sure how the tiebreakers work there, if Miami should somehow pull off an upset of W. Mich. If there is a 2 way tie between the Clowns and Omaha, that means we will have jumped Duluth into 5th place, so maybe St. Cloud owns the tiebreaker against Omaha? Clear as mud.
