I would think we have a number of different scenarios for home ice but none matter if we don't keep winning.  Cornell could really help us in the pairwise if they'd quit losing to teams like Brown.

Berry needs to let it be known to his goaltenders that 1 soft goal and it's the hook for them.

That definitely will be the key.  If they win all 4, they will be in good shape.  If they lay an egg, then all bets are off.  I would hope that with their pairwise ranking on the bubble, they would keep their nose to the grindstone, but who knows with the inconsistency we've seen.  So, do we still hope for an NCHC title and hope for St. Cloud to beat Denver, or do we want Denver to win so we have an easier route to home ice?

One major difference is that going in to the Cornel series Driscoll knew he was starting and Hellsten knew he was not! Both now know that a start one night does not mean a finish or a start the second. They are pushing each other for ice time now as it should be. Also, we need both of them for the HCHC tourney and beyond. I honestly feel equally comfortable with either and agree that a rotation of some sort would be best.

I believe you ride the hot goaltender.  Only problem is neither of our goaltenders have been what you would call hot.  I though would say Driscoll was hot for two periods and ot and shootout Saturday.  Now if Driscoll can be consistent is another big ?.

I didn't like what I saw from him in that first period on Saturday and Drizz was fantastic. I would be fine with either, I just think Drizz is going to get the start

I don't think Driscoll liked the bench last weekend.  He came in with an edge Saturday.  Driscoll is a very good goalie and not just because of Bemidji's system.  I like Hellsten too but Driscoll was lights out when he was being pushed to be by Hellsten.

Glad we kept pace with DU. Speaking of DU, man, they are on a roll! I don’t think they’ve lost since playing here in November and they’re really filling the back of the net. I do think Chrona is their one weak link though.

Denver has to fill the net to make up for Chrona being pretty leaky. His rights were traded for a reason they lost confidence in him.

Big performance this weekend and a needed performance.

Thought Portz-Ness-Albrecht line had their best weekend of the season by far and all seemed to have a little more jump.

Sanderson's game tonight reminded me of the Duluth playoff game where especially in the OTs he just took over at times.

Calder played maybe his best hockey of the season this weekend.

Driscoll was really solid in relief, still think I'd go with Hellsten next Friday though but maybe go to splitting weekends?

Moore has so many chances and Kleven as well lately, both have to feel just snakebitten.

Need to continue to build. This weekend was a very good weekend but you can't celebrate it and say see look what we can do and rest on that for even a little bit. Guys have to continue to grow and find their best hockey of the year. Really need to take care of UNO next weekend.

When you have a 4th line like Portz, Ness & Albrecht you can roll 4 lines all night no matter who you play.  I honestly thought they were our best line tonight.  Those 3 all compliment each other.  Sort of a line like the Senden line before Hain got hurt on how each of their play compliments the others.  Great weekend by the 4th line.  They were the difference.

Just an analysis for what it’s worth. Most of our seniors left and we are trying desperately to fill the voids that created but what is going to happen to teams like Western and St. Cloud that held on to their seniors for a 5th year next year when the mass exodus and they didn’t bring in many young players this year. Yes the transfer portal helps but you just don’t get elite players for transfers generally. Are we going through this year what many teams will be going through next year when they lose their 5th year seniors. Are we possibly experiencing this pain 1 year earlier than say Western or St Cloud that has 5 th year seniors

What will happen to the teams that didn’t bring in many young players from their pipeline this year. What will be the consequences next year is my question.

To translate......Berry's system doesn't work with this roster.

We had to bring in those portal guys because we lost a ton after last year.  A ton.
We lost more than any other program in the NCAA.  If we didn't bring in all the transfers, we'd have 14 freshmen on the roster right now.

I had higher hopes for this year than what the team is showing now, but UND is still an elite program.  We had the #1 team in the nation the last two years in a row...something was bound to give when all those talented players graduated or left for the NHL.

This season isn't lost yet, but it certainly is teetering.  Hopefully they can right the ship and at least make the NCAA's.
Next season should be better when we're bringing in more talent and potentially only losing Sanderson.

Didn’t Cornell have something like 14 freshman on their roster?

Watched up until our power play in the 3rd. Was puzzled to see notifications of two power play goals by Western. Up until that point I was mostly happy with the game we played. Western is as good as we've ever seen them. Game had a good pace, and their goalie/our lack of finishing was the difference.

Gaber's cross check late was a weak call I thought he just made a hockey play. We just can't stay out of the box and that has cost us so many games.

On the bright side Minot state is 19 and 2

    goalie call

Not all Driscolls fault but mid 800 save % just doesn't cut it.  Put in the Swede and get him experience for next year.  We're probably gonna be on the road for NCHC first round.

I’m so pissed off right now. We shoot ourselves in the foot and create much of our own misery and I wish once Berry would publicly show some fire in his media interviews but I guess that’s not his style.

I just wonder if this group can't handle the soft life they get at the Ralph.  If I was coach it would be hot  dogs and maybe beans too if they work really hard.
