Schmaltz with Gaber and Caulfield
Ford with Senden and Hain
Jammer with Budy and Portz
or some set of lines with those guys.
Then we have just Montgomery, Ness and Albrecht remaining (healthy) unless Kunz and Costco are back, Is that correct?
Hoping Constantini and Kunz are back but also hoping that Albrecht keeps his spot, he is earning minutes. Calder is definitely out, I think, Berry was talking like he’ll need this weekend, next (CC) and the Christmas break to return.
Will Kleven have to sit some more or will he get his regular spot back?
I want the three amigos back together (Senden, Hain and Jammer) to wreak havoc on the forecheck. I love Smaltz, Gaber and Caufield. How bout Ford Portz and Albrecht. I'll throw one more in Kunz, Costantini, Albrecht possibly a combo also and put Ness with Ford and Portz. Albrecht and Kunz will free pucks up down low and constantini will provide the magic while Kunz has talent and Albrecht has the grit. Kleven I think will be back full time on #2 pair. He's too good to sit and he was a good boy Saturday night even though he should have sent a message to McLaughlin. I also love Albrechts game (heavy with an edge). I will get eye rolls but I still say we are very deep. Maybe not so in scoring but our depth in what I call intangibles has gotten us some huge wins when we were shorthanded some of our main cogs.

As an outside observer, yeah that was a heck of a slash that should have been called amd is inexcusable that it wasn't, but I'm not sure I could argue there was intent to injure or anything out of the ordinary. The end result doesn't necessarily mean anything as far as the penalty or any kind of discipline.
I would have to agree that it is very unlikely you'll see supplementary discipline by B10. It seems that it has to be something to the head or something blatantly meant to injure like when Denver took out Scheel behind the play.

Funny the box score doesn’t show a slashing penalty against the gooph troop.

Must have been once hell of a slash to Calder if they're already essentially ruling him out for the SCSU series too.
Hopefully he's not out for too long. And hopefully one or both of Constantini/Kunz is ready to go.
Just watched the replay again of the Calder slash from McLaughlin (spelling). If someone is more tech savvy to show the replay on here. The replay is at the 1:05:00 or a little after of the Saturday game replay. Nasty 2 hander.

You could see on the replay that the gopher player swung his stick using both hands as hard as he could.
May have been to send a message about Kleven’s cross checking major.

Much better performance tonight. Gophers sure made it interesting at the end though!
Lafontaine had a lot to do with the score being close. Pretty lopsided play in our favor most of game.

People overreacting when last weekend was the same against an arguably better team than UM. Let the weekend play out and we can see how they respond. Couch/keyboard coaches are out in full force.
I think the Gophers may be better than Duluth. As much as that pains me to say. Size and talent up the wazoo. They’ll choke though at tourney time despite all that.

You also can’t count on pulling out a new business suit in white to make up for uninspired play the night before. Would guess they pull out the Nodak jerseys tomorrow.
I guess the kids enjoy the different jerseys. Maybe do it for them

The Jersey thing has been overused imo. Like we think we’re Clark Kent changing in a phone booth into his Super Man outfit. Getting old.

Yes it is. If we finish this 6 game stretch .500 after playing St Clown I think most people would take that.
We are at #5 in the pairwise right now.

Agreed, but do you think he played well?
He would have had to shut out the Gophers to win. Take away that goal where he misplayed the puck and I think he played ok. A lot of Minnies chances were grade A variety.

Tough to win when you can’t score goals

Not the end of the world but disappointing. We knew this 6 game stretch was gonna be tough start with Duluth. .500 after this weekend and our pairwise will be ok
These losses to ranked teams hurt less than to an unranked.

This team is like Jekyll and Hyde.
One game they look like title contenders and the next they can't get anything going.
Our record against the B10 will not do us any favors in the PWR, unfortunately.i.e 14 freshmen has something to do with that I think but is no excuse.

Yes and he would have walked in water too. Why are you always bashing the coach. Go wash your Gopher jersey for tomorrow.

Everybody thought Berry was a fool for challenging during the major penalty. Turned out he wasn't. Maybe he was just "feelin' lucky tonight".
Dean Blais would have pulled Driscoll with 6 minutes left and that’s a fact.

I don’t understand. You can’t score on the PP what makes you think you can score with the Extra attacker goalie pulled. Dumb.
What difference if you lose by 1 or 10

He’s one of the problems. I mean his save % for the year is bad.
I disagree. Vladislav Tretiak couldn’t keep us in this game. Just poor defensive effort

Sanderson is no slouch in the speed department and skating agility. I really feel our strength is our smothering defense. When we want to shut a team down we can do it and win 2-1 or 1-0 even. I think low scoring games seem to favor us. We'll see if we bring that smothering defense with this weekend.
