Textbook CTH.  Predict a fast review.

Call was pretty consistent with the refs have been letting the teams play. Was a major imo but call was consistent with how they’ve called the rest of the game if that makes sense.

Was his saying something along these lines?

“The way of a superior man is three-fold: virtuous, he is free from anxieties; wise, he is free from perplexities; bold, he is free from fear.”

Twisted Wrister.  I said it now I gotta go puke.

Sadly, no Senden tonight. Here are the lines:

    Costantini - Ford - Gaber

    Caulfield - Schmaltz - Calder

    Portz - Ness - Albrecht

    Kunz - Jamernik - Budy

    Montgomery (extra skater)

    Kleven - Frisch

    Jandric - Johnson

    Moore - Bast

    Driscoll

    Hellsten

Going to be a tough weekend, hope the boys can get some points. We need to get shots on their goalie from everywhere. Hopefully Driscoll has a good weekend and the boys can bury the biscuit.

If we play two close checking games with them I think we come out on top  but if we start taking shifts off we're gonna be in trouble.

Yeah, the maroon and gold glasses really accentuate his meticulously sculpted eyebrows.  What a hoser!

Gorg was the prototypical homer.  He had the most moronic vocabulary also.  I can't even utter his moronic trade mark saying.

    Amen.
I watch a lot of the NCHC game highlights for other teams after the UND games are done each weekend.
The UMD announcers are the worst, and it's not even close.  They're literally screaming every time UMD scores a goal.

I can remember back in the day when FSN had Kevin Gorg.  Boy he hated UND and wasn't afraid to accuse UND of starting every fight or cheap shot he could get in.

If Senden and Jammer both play Friday who does Berry pair on the wing with them.  Breaking up Portz, Ness and Albrecht is not really possible as they'e played lights out since being put together.  Budy may be an option or Calder maybe.

I think a big part of our recent success has been that our fourth line is lights out and can generate offense against 1-4 lines of opponents making for more favorable matchups for our other lines.  I see this being huge this weekend when we don't have last change.

Speaking of TV - Friday night's game is indeed on CBS Sports Network and it looks like Saturday's game is being picked and shown on MidCo.

So no NCHC TV correct for Friday game.  I don't get CBS Sports.  Any free streams available?

But the shutout was complete. So obviously the jinx doesn't exist.

Just to be on the safe side I will never mention a Sioux shutout until the game is over unless of course we are the ones being shut out then I will be screaming shutout.

That's funny because with 12 minutes left the guy next to me turns and says "THINK DRISCOLL WILL GET THE SHUTOUT?!"  I responded with a large sigh "No... not anymore" SMH

What the heck is wrong with some people.  Even someone who knows nothing about any sport at all especially hockey should know you never mention the shut out until it is complete.  This should be taught in broadcast school also as an announcer mentioning the shut out before the game is over is even more unacceptable.

Trevor Bruess. There were several incidents with him. Kaip evened one of the scores but then a season later after Kaip had graduated he broke Derrick LaPoint’s leg and got no penalty. (But we did!) We won that game though.

That Abate reminds me of Bruess.  I just couldn't remember his name.  Just absolute cheap shot artists.

Abate never tries to avoid contact. The kid has a reputation for this stuff for a reason.

Abate reminds me of the guy from Mankato that slew footed the UND defenseman and broke his leg in a couple places when we were stilll in the WCHA.  I always hated that cheap shot artist from Mankato back then.  I believe Rylan Kaip evened up the score some later down in Mankato.  Can someone put the names to this incident as they escape me right now.

    Still 12th PWR

Tied for 12th with Notre Dame.  With the auto qualis we need to move up to about 10th to feel comfortable.  This was a bad tie for us.  We could have possibly moved up a spot with a win.  We are clinging to the bubble right now.  We're not playing bad hockey but other teams that we need to win to move up are not wining and we keep clinging precariously to the bubble.

    Bad bad loss

We are sitting on the bubble of the pairwise right now.  We are getting no help from Penn State or Cornell and time erosion is creeping in on us.  We gotta start takin care of business against teams like Omaha or we're gonnna piss the tournament down our leg.

Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Penn State can't get the job done when leading teams in the B1G. Those three get a win against the other 4 and it helps UND, but those three can never close out games.

Wee caused a lot of our own pain with those bad losses to teams we should have beaten.  We are almost going to need to win out the rest of the year if we don't get some help from Cornell and Penn State to name 2 teams that could help us if they'd just quit losing.

Cornell loses to Colgate. What a pairwise anchor that series was.

We can't gain any ground in pairwise no matter what we do it seems because Cornell can't win a game.  That sweep of us by Cornell gets worse with every bad loss Cornell takes.

Picked him in my Sioux Survivor :) Just a hunch! Kid has been working so hard and he deserves it.

By difference makers doesn't always mean lighting up the scoreboard.  When we can roll 4 lines which they allow us to do every weekend now it can create good matchups for both them and our other lines i.e. if we were only able to play 3 lines. Such a big deal to have a 4th line that you can put out at almost any time of the game.

I haven't felt like Driscoll was giving up much in the way of real soft goals.  But he was just giving up too many, even on pretty high quality chances, and that's how you get to 0.890, or whatever the number is.

I felt they were very quick with the hook on Hellsten on Saturday.  Driscoll played well in relief but just saying.

  18. 3 minutes ago, siouxnatty#8 said:

Maybe it should be 2 or 3 soft goals and then the hook?

I was being facetious.  Drisoll had such a long leash in the first half that I think Berry should shorten the leash on the goaltenders.
