  1. Kris Engelstad on campus this weekend UND to FBS?!? I kid, I kid.
  2. Forecast in the low 80s for tailgating on Saturday. Hope everyone gets there early to make the most of the weather then gets into the Alerus and makes some noise!
  3. How much of student fees go to UND Athletics? This enrollment increase has to be a big boost to the athletic department, no? Anyone able to break it down?
  4. Great job by the UND administration! Keep the momentum going upward! The amazing looking campus, scholarship opportunities, and programs offered set UND apart in the region.
  5. The Colorado St. game is intriguing. They were very good last season, but lose 4 out of their top 5 scorers, which includes Isaiah Stevens, who shot 44% from 3 and led them in assists. Notre Dame was not very good last season, but will likely be much improved as they return a lot of production and their best player (Markus Burton; 17ppg, 63 steals) will only be going into his sophomore season. Their second leading scorer will only be a sophomore as well. And then there's the monster that is Alabama. Should be an awesome experience at the Betty. Overall a pretty good schedule IMO!
  6. Murray State will be coming off a bye week and is 1-2 with a win over Miss. Valley State and losses to Butler and Missouri. Lot of interesting stuff about their roster and I didn't even look into their OL. Looks like they use a committee in the backfield. Their starting QB is from Sioux Falls and started at SD School of Mines. Looks like he's fairly mobile (64 yard run against Butler). Their leading WR actually played basketball for the Racers for a few years and his bio says this is his first year back playing football since high school in 2018 when he was the Arkansas Gatorade player of the year. Their leading tackler is a transfer from Cincinnati, second leading tackler is a transfer from Georgia Tech, third and fourth leading tacklers are from Florida Atlantic, fifth from Florida A&M. I could go on and on. Looks like the defense is almost entirely transfers. Just found it interesting. UND's QB play and defense needs to be much improved compared to the San Diego game. So does the crowd - hopefully homecoming will bring a larger and louder crowd. Four games in a row is a lot to commit to for fans, but there needs to be more juice in the Alerus this weekend.
  7. Game day! Get it done! Let’s go!!
  8. I like them!
  9. Saturday looks like another nice day to tailgate and then get into the Alerus and make some noise!
  10. I think so!
  11. Brady O on track for another 1,000 yard rushing season. Leading rusher has 2 games played on him. He also has 44 receptions for 365 yards. Winnipeg has bounced back from a slow start and is now 7-6. Evan Holm sits at 10th in tackles: Side note, a lot of names FCS fans will recognize for QB leaders. Bo Levi Mithcell (Eastern Washington, though UND didn't face him), Jake Maier (UC Davis), Bethel Thompson (Sac State), Vernon Adams (Eastern Washington), and further down Streveler.
  12. Not from last year, but George Natsvishvili intrigues me. Anyone know if he's been practicing? I thought someone said there were enrollment issues? Listed at 6' 10" on the roster (other places I keep seeing 6' 8"), left-handed, can handle and shoot the 3. He's 20 years old as well so not a typical freshman.
  13. Exactly what this team needs is a lights out, Matt Norman type shooter (in addition to Eaglestaff).
  14. https://blogs.und.edu/und-today/2024/09/qa-with-und-athletics-director-bill-chaves-transformation/?utm_source=mailpoet&utm_medium=email&utm_source_platform=mailpoet&utm_campaign=Sept. 17, 2024 issue Chaves says the Pollard Center addition will be done in January. One thing I didn’t know is that it has a lower level that is level with the field inside the Pollard, so it’s even bigger than it looks from the outside. They’ll also be able to walk right out to the outdoor practice field on the ground level.
  15. New softball field opens this Saturday. Looking good!
  16. I think Romfo's arm is stronger than we've seen. If you watch his HS film, he's making some pretty long throws on the run. To my very amateur eye, when he short hops throws, it's because he doesn't get his feet set or he's rushes it just a bit. I think we need to get him throwing on the move a bit more until he's more comfortable passing with his feet set.
  17. San Diego appears to have quite a few grad students and seniors leading the way. Definitely a team with experience. They held Cal Poly to 8 rushing yards on 18 attempts. UND is a young team and needs to be well prepared. It most likely won't be the ISU game again as sometimes things snowball on teams (38-0). QB - Grad student Top 3 RBs - Grad students WR1 - Senior WR2 - Junior WR3 - Senior Top 2 TEs - Junior and Senior OL - Junior, Junior, Grad, Junior, Senior Top 10 tacklers, in order -Senior, Grad, Senior, Junior, Grad, Senior, Grad, Soph, Senior, Senior
  18. More of this on Saturday! Rucker torched that tackle.
  19. San Diego beat Cal Poly for what it’s worth. They’ll be fresh off a bye. Hopefully UND has a great week of practice and takes another step forward as a team.
  20. Someone he’s likely never even seen practice
  21. Yes, he missed some easy throws. We get it. Still had more passing yards than any game last season and on 65.7%. Personally, I think he can correct some things and make those throws he missed. You seem to want him to fail for whatever reason.
  22. Belquist seems to think it was the OC. There are other articles about Romfo being told by the OC hes the starter. Not hard. “He knows how to win, he knows how to control a game, and I think Coach Fruechte saw that and liked that,” Wide Receiver and Team Captain Bo Belquist said. “He played really well this fall camp. He controlled the ball, didn’t have too many turnovers, just played smart.” https://www.valleynewslive.com/2024/08/26/langdon-areas-simon-romfo-ready-lead-und-offense/
  23. It was: Fruechte said he also looked at leadership when picking his quarterback. "We looked at the opportunity of being in front of the team and how you handle that," Fruechte said. "He does a great job communicating with our guys. He's not a loud person. He's quiet, not a rah-rah guy. He's an every-day guy who competes his butt off." https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/college/und-coaches-teammates-label-simon-romfo-as-tough-consistent-and-a-winner
  24. Etsu had soooo many chances to end it lol
  25. Not sure what point you’re making here?
