there is a bust factor with any candidate. i agree the upside is huge with Brooks. I am totally amazed that some are questioning Brooks as inexperienced. He was raised by a college football coach. that is where he gained the poise to be a great college player at Wiscosin and smart enough to play as a backup on 6 years in the NFL. He will be a good recruiter and will hire the right coaches for the defense.

this should be a good match up. i dont know which team will win. but having watched both RBs, i would choose Zenner.

I think Brooks is a good fit. He can walk into any living room in ND, SD, MN, WI, IA and they will know him. He grew talking to his father D2 FB coach his whole life. How many conversations did he have with his father on strategy at college level while he was in HS. Start 4 yrs at QB FBS Wisconsin. 6 yrs NFL. Recruiting will be very tough this season and I think Brooks would command attention. Oh ya only two years as position coach. Brooks is smart and he will hire the right staff and the check will be there to get them. I not saying he is going to be coach, but UND would be getting a winner. Brooks is a gamer for sure. I sure Faison has a number of candidate in mind and Brooks is probably one and only one of them. I think we will get the coach we need to move forward to the top tier of FCS.

He was OC for the Bison under the Babich era. Also OC for South Dakota for a couple of years.

lets open this up for a good search. Brooks has good ties to WI, MN and ND. He sure was a leader at Wisconsin.

I agree it is time to move on pass Muss. never met him, he might be a nice guy and runs a clean program. all that said, he is not a leader and that is a must to win at this level. A leader will recruit good talent and inspire them to play at a level above their talent as a unit.

Wristen has impressive accomplishments. knows the recruiting area for our conference. I think he would be a good fit to jump start UND into the top tier of the conference and compete national. He is not defensive minded but he is the type to hire the right DC.

I was at the game yesterday. Attendance was very poor. There was some ND transplants living in AZ that came to the game. I had planned on seeing this game early in the season and almost decided not to go because of there performance. But I decided to invite a high school FB teammate of mine (he lives in AZ now) to watch with me. Neither of us ever played college football. My friend was a DE in HS and noticed in the first qtr the left guard tipped off if it was a run or a pass by his stance. So I watched him the first few plays in the second qtr and he was right. I wonder if our defense or coaches noticed. I plan on going to the UNC game. It is a long drive from williston but I want to support the team. If we dont have a new HC next year I will not renew my season tickets for sure. I will stay at home at watch on TV.

I agree the talent is there. UNA with be especially tough for this team. I hope they do win out. I would be so happy for the defense to step up and OL step up and the TO and penalties minimized. It would great for this team to win out and make the playoffs. This would be a big step forward.

With 3 mins left in the 3rd qtr the score was 12-14 EWU. UND driving to the 22 yd line. a chop block by Walker put us 3 and long. Joe throws a pick six. 2 players made contact but no one help bring the EWU player down. Now 28-14. The next set od down, UND driving again and Golladay fumbles. EWU capitalized on the mistake. The defense gave up 2 deep balls. one by Baylee on the 3rd and 2. He let a TE behind him. and of course a PF by MacKey which extended a drive that led to a TD. Our Offense lost the game with TO and PF. Defense did their part.

the defense gave 28 points. i thought they would have given up 50+ that is a good sign. the offense needs to quit the TO's and penalties. this team did make strides today. kuksa is the real deal. cummings and hickel played good IMO. I want to see a win against Sac State and Portland St. these are both possible wins with the defense i saw today.
