I could more easily handle that arrogance if it were coming from a Michigan hockey fan. Sorry - in my mind you are tied for the third team down on the list to be acting in an arrogant fashion. I just don't think the attitude of Sioux hockey fans has ever been boasting a "defending national champions" type demeanor. We certainly have all played the 7 to 5 or 7 to 3 card rightly so. When UND wins it's next national title it will be ho hum just add another one to the pile and play on. For Minnesota it is like they freakin discovered the cure for cancer - again act like you have been there before.

I hope so too...Last time I saw that happen was in the movie "Tommy Boy". Cow tipping will be much easier on the insurance companies, Grand Forks police and emergency response folks.

Yeah I guess every school has some bad fans - difference being UND's "bad" fans shove a mascot on occasion and the Golden Shower's bad fans destroy property, burn cars and riot.

Nope...I don't have a new name on POI...waste of my time over there. I might slip in however on Monday - undetected (IP addresses are simple to change). Vanek might have picked a pocket a few times - therein lies the problem. Zpar does this consistently and it is part of what be brings to the ice night in and night out not to mention his hustle and keeping plays alive. Not just occasionally or a few times during the season. I think if you count all the posts on POI that directly mention Zpar, God or whatever else you call him in all the threads started it adds up to one thing - Parise envy. Admit it. I surprised his name pops up even when the discussion isn't about him!

Every time I went to a game at Mariouci (sp) the vast majority of Gopher fans were very classy. Many even apologized for the anti-sioux name protestors. When I was at the Excel for the championship game two years ago, the Gopher fans sitting by me were the exact opposite, very rude giving Sioux and Badger fans crap. What I got from my experiences, the true Gopher fans are pretty classy, the bandwagon drunken fratboys are not.

I'm from Boston so I understand your post completely - and it is very accurate with regards to Hockey East (the fans and traditional gripes from those schools). However, being an east coaster.....I admit I pull for BC when they play anyone in the WCHA besides the Sioux.

Wow you noticed that too! One dimensional player. No doubting his offensive skills however - great talent on that end of the ice but definitely not close to the overall skills and hustle of Zpar.

Anyone as long as it isn't the Gophers.....After Minnesota's 23 year drought they acted like that had won 9 of them after the national title game in St. Paul in 2002. Then to add to it they go back to back and now act like that have won 18.

Maybe Wooger should keep his comments to himself. If it wasn't for recruiting out of staters and foreigners UMN would still be stuck at 3 titles. You would be hard pressed to find Gopher fans still opposed to that policy. I think they would rather have the titles than some stupid policy that they used to pride themselves on (albeit hardly producing a winner).
